It's not science, many factors go into the votes including voter fatigue. Jokic only wins again if his team wins a title or two IMO.

MVP is a debate because it’s an award that doesn’t usually consider defense. But a statement like yours does. Embiid and Jokic are both elite offensive players. Only Embiid is elite at the defensive end. There’s no argument that says that Jokic is a better basketball player than Joel Embiid.

There is an argument, on the offensive side Jokic is arguably "better" or more important. But that's not enough to say he's definitely better overall

My comment wasn’t solely about Jokic. My comment was about the impact of analytics on NBA media and the fact that they’re almost a slave to them now. The concept of catch all statistics is innately flawed because at its core, it’s non-basketball people determining what’s valued in Basketball seen in the way they weight certain metrics. In metrics like VORP and RAPTOR an assist by a center is given 1.6 or 1.7 points while an assist from a PG is worth only 1 point. The defensive metrics are even worse as people try and quantity defensive impact. It’s all flawed.
