Kwame for Gasol was a bad trade day of for sure.

I'm definitely being a little hyperbolic but it's not looking good.

They got Marc Gasol and two firsts out of that deal; Kwame was essentially a role player by that point and the rest was just money matching. They picked poorly with those 2 late 1sts (and especially in that 2010 draft, there wasn't much to pick from at that point), which didn't help things. Marc was the real prize on their end.

You got Chips and in the end Marc returned.

That trade was so bad it actually got me to stop watching basketball. Think about that, I sat through so many years of dysfunction that I felt the Lions are not run all that bad. Absorbed gross incompetence at a level never before seen on the planet. My honest take on David Kahn was "we've had worse" Yet that trade did it for me. For the first time in over 20 Years I did not watch a single live game of basketball because of that, trade.

Even by the low bar set by the years of the Wolves, thay trade stands out as terrible.

The hard reality of this thing is they will be paying over 130 million to KAT, Rudy, and Ant by 24 25 at the latest. The cap projection is 143 for that year. If they keep all 3 they damn sure better be contending for ships for the tax bill. That doesn't even count McDaniels who on the low end will be 15 mil

The whole thing is set up to make it difficult on teams to keep 3 max players.
