Another reason why the Sixers may consider using the Harris expiring for a big fish with Maxey being involved in the deal. Part of what makes Maxey great is the value of his contract. I don’t know about a 40 million dollar 3rd option right when I’m ready to part with Tobias Harris.

Yeah not ideal. You would want Maxey as a #2 paying him that much but once Harden is out though, Maxey will be the #2. Can he be a clear #2 on a contending team is the question…might not matter if they don’t win it all. If they don’t win in the next couple seasons, Embiid could be out.
Like Fight and others have said, what are you getting in return for Harris, Maxey + picks then. I said Beal earlier but I agree with Tlance, he isn’t the same player. Is he pushing you over the hump with Harden aging?

Barrett 4 years 120, Herro 4 years 130, Poole 4 years 140 is where Maxey should be slotted. Those are three good comps. If I’m Maxey though, I go ridiculous in my demands to force my way out. If he’s going to grow from here, he can’t be a 3rd option. He needs his own team. That’s next step for him. He will grow even if he fails and resets himself into being a great Robin at 27-28.

If they don’t get out of round 2 (which is looking likely) I could see him trying to force a trade depending upon what it looks like and if Harden is coming back. Depending upon how it goes, I could see both Harden and Embiid wanting to run it back together with adding through the Harris expiring.
