The NFL is the envy of all leagues from an owner and fans point of view. Literally any team can win.
I'm not sure you can write it off entirely.
But at least maybe these supermax deals getting treated like regular max deals (i.e. rookie extensions) would be a good start.
some kind of relief so paying the tax (or even getting to avoid it from smaller teams) makes sense if the NBA really cares about letting smaller market teams be able to afford to not just keep their guys, but keep them happy by being able to have more cash to build a supporting cast around them.
They do seem to have parity figured outThe NFL is the envy of all leagues from an owner and fans point of view. Literally any team can win.
Exactly. Doing something like that would help any team that chose to build through the draft without restricting teams who choose to build through FA nor would it restrict player movement.

Among title winners or winning in the regular season? I could see it either way. The playoffs in baseball are almost totally random and uncorrelated to how good the teams are. But in the regular season there are definitely the great teams (usually the big spenders) and a bunch of bad/rebuilding ones.Mathematically speaking baseball has had more parity than the NFL, and it hasn't been that close.
I believe Jayson Stark used to do an annual newsletter about it.

$20M that is a lot for a nutcase and 86 games the last two seasons. He is still only 21 it just all depends on if he can stay right. 3rd or 4th option on a playoff team eventually, possiblyWas this a wise investment?
He's talented.
But, he has the emotional intelligence of a fire ant.
I'm like, scared for this kid.
Also, apologies for all my Brunson slander.
If this guy is worth 20 mil per, Jalen is underpaid.

Does everyone have their 1st game excuses ready in case of a loss?
Hell yeah! Any games the Celtics lose the fix is obviously in. And just gonna say it now, the refs will cost the Celtics games this season because about a quarter of them don't know what da fuck they're doing.

Why does the NBA care to keep talented performers in small markets? That limits the potential economic growth for the league.Obviously we aren’t going back to that. But having it doesn’t benefit small market teams really. And I do think the NBA has gone way overboard giving players control. Is what it is, just my opinion.
You aren’t wrong with that last part, these dudes are clueless half the time
(Not just Celtics games)
During last season Kendrick Perkins was on PTI. He said the officiating was the worst he's ever seen. I just hope obviously missed calls never determine the outcome of a playoff game. If that kinda stuff happens the league will have a mess on their hands.
