Depends on how you define superstar, imo.

A player who has been a superstar can be sort of a superstar in name only.

Kobe after his Achilles blew apart is an example. He was still treated as a superstar because he was Kobe and he could still give you those superstar moments from time to time (like dropping 60 in his last game)...but he was no longer capable of playing like that every night, or even playing every night for that matter.

I don't know as that I would say that Dame is in that superstar in name only spot yet, but I think he's headed that direction.

Dame's great. Nobody would say otherwise, well maybe pasta.

But his first five years ('13 to '17) he was ROY. A two-time all star. 3rd team ('14), 2nd team ('16). No 1st team selections.

Is it really incorrect to say he wasn't a superstar his first five seasons?

But it's kinda crazy he wasn't an all star in '17 when he averaged 27, 4.9, 5.9.

It's all up in the air until more tests are completed. Could be shorter, could be longer. I think this more or less cements where they need to go with that 15th spot.....SF/PF to cover for Lebron. Will Barton, Gary Clark, Mo Harkless, Justin Anderson, hell even Melo?

Yeah, imo folks need to lay off Dame (and Beal for that matter). It's their careers and if they're happy where they are and don't want to go to other teams chasing rings, that's their choice.

For some guys, staying loyal to the team, city and fans that have put millions of dollars in their pockets and stood behind them through thick and thin is more important.

Not a damn thing wrong with being Reggie Miller, imo.
