After those three got together, they all talked about sacrificing their roles for the good of the team. That was a tough adjustment for Russ to stick to.
It was a mistake to even bring him in. Russ needs the ball in his hands and so does LeBron. It was never going to work. Asking Russ to play off ball is retarded. The move to the Lakers has cost Russ a shit ton of money and really fucked up his reputation and career.

I wouldn’t go that far on that last part. He has been traded 4 times in 3 years. His contract I know, but still.

The concept was to have one of the two on the court at all times to avoid the drop off when Lebron would rest.

It hasn't cost him a dime. He's received his full salary to date. His rep was already shot as he bounced around the league as teams tried to dump him. He was never going to get a big extension coming off of his current contract.

The concept was retarded plain and simple. It’s like asking Ted Williams to pitch out of the back end of your bull pen.

The Lakers (and Lebron) had the failed notion that they still needed to pursue the 3 star model and he was the only one available. It's quite obvious WHY he was available, and the Lakers would've been better suited to either stand pat or complete the Kuzma/Hield trade.

None of this is a revelation, you aren't enlightening anyone lol. I could care less, ding dong Russ is gone and trading him brought back most of the depth they gave up to get him.

another that aged poorly...

So…

We are making assessments of a two week stretch?

Or his last 2 seasons of play?

He carries Portland through the play in games and makes some noise in the first round, then we can talk.

Until then?

Nothing has changed.

No.

The missed bunnies are the worst.

He can get to the rim at will.

Finishing is a different story.

They really are.

Especially for a guard who has defensive transition responsibilities.

Missed layups and dunks end in wide open shots or dunks on the other end very often.

He can't be blamed for the misdeeds of his front office. It will get worse when Grant walks this summer.

It's right up there with taking an anti-Dame stance on the night he's going for 70 lol...

You are too much.

Saying he isn’t in the top level of elite superstars is anti-Dame?

Get out of here.

Have to draw the line somewhere.

You can have never been done with that much cause you ain’t no reason why you don’t want me to come back home here cause you.

You can get a hold for you and see what they are saying about the other way you.

That’s the BS games you want to play?

That first paragraph is a rough one

I think every single Lakers fan admits the Westbrook experiment was a huge failure. But maybe at the time it was a risk the team was willing to make.

Deep down most of us were knew it probably wasn't going to work, but if it would they would be a force to be reckoned with.

Now i'm not going to be putting all the blame on Russ for the failures with the Lakers. He is who he always has been - a stat padder. And I kinda like the guy. But he is just a bad fit on a team that wants to win championships.

The best place for him would be on a team which competes for a possible play-in spot. Somewhere he can post 40/10/10 triple doubles of a weekly basis where his team hovers just around the .500 mark, maybe even a little less. He needs to be the #1 guy on a below average team, not the #3 guy on a team that wants to win the title.
