No. BB won it by not panicking and forcing Pete Carrol to make that decision. Most would have stopped the clock to leave some time to respond after Seattle scored. Bill didn't. Instead he forced Carrol to try and manage the clock.
Can’t disagree with you there. Love the NFL film of that whole sequence as the clock keeps winding down and the Pats never call timeout. Carroll soiled himself and he’s never really recovered from it.

Pete Carroll won that Super Bowl for the Pats...by merely not handing the ball to Lynch.
The reason he tried to throw the ball was that Lynch had already been stopped once and Carroll did not want to eat uo the clock and not get the ball into the end zone. The Patriots knew exactly what the call would be if a pass was called. They had practiced it seven times and brady had completed the pass six and one pass had been dropped. BB expected Malcom to just knock the ball away from Lockett. The INT was was a cherry on top.

Pretty sure I soiled myself too screaming at the tv to take a fucking timeout. I, like everybody else on earth not named Bill Belichick, was wrong.

That game ranks near the very top of the all-time “I’m having a heart attack” games for me as a Boston sports fan. I was a fuckin’ mess before, during and after that one.

Actually, I wasn't screaming about it at all. They showed Bill and as much as I would have called it, he seemed very "measured" in what he was doing. It's why I remember how that game was won so clearly.

When they were about lose I let out a deep sigh. When the interception happened I had a smile burned into my face... I didn't feel entitled to scream in joy after accepting defeat.

It's one of those rare times when you're saying to the TV..."aawwwwww shit" and it immediately becomes "Hoooolllyyyyy Shit!!!!""""

When I stated "smile burned into my face", I can still feel it. It didn't quite heal the pit bored into my stomach when Plaxico burned Hobbs, but it went a long ways toward soothing it.

At 6' 245 pounds he ain't gonna be a scat back. That is a big fella when it's mostly muscle. I read he needs work on his hands which makes me think he won't be used as a 3rd down back, pretty sure Harris will pick up those duties he has pretty solid hands.

6' and 230 lbs ??

Pipe dreams.
Malcolm Butler made a great play because he had well coached.
Lynch had just been stopped on the play before.
He may or may not have been stopped again.

Lynch also was 25% on similar downs and yards to gain during the year.

Report was 245

It's gotta be true if it's on the internet.

"Downhill size with balance

At 6-foot, 231 pounds, Stevenson is cut from the downhill cloth between the tackles. But at Oklahoma’s pro day, he tested lighter on his feet in short areas, running the three-cone drill in a reported 7.09 seconds and the short shuttle in 4.15 seconds."

Good I thought I was the only one who saw multiple weights reported on this guy.

Hightower risked life and limb to stop him the first time(and barely did). I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have stopped him again. Glad they didn’t have to!

I can’t really say I enjoyed that game live. I have enjoyed the replay several times!

I still can't watch the first half of the LI Super Bowl. But get blood flowing to my loins watching the second half and OT.

I get even more pumped watching them beat the Chiefs in the AFCCG in OT.

I think I'll watch them both again today and maybe sneak in a piece of chocolate.

**Been dieting since Jan.19th. Taking it slow and easy. Down 35 lbs. Goal is 50. Starting to enjoy going to the gym and working out.
Chocolate candy is my enemy. Especially when it coats peanuts or cashews.

He had been stopped many times on short yardage with our jumbo package in
You are right. And the jumbo package with just 3 dbs was in. Revis on one side and Browner and Butler on the other.

It's another example within the same example of how BB dictated what PC would call. BB move his Queen while PC proudly moved his kinged checker.
