Mehh I can't see Jacoby as an NFL starting QB, not IMO
Agree!!!

Brissett was traded because he didn't have the arm or accuracy. The Colts used him fgor several games and they signed Rivers because Jacoby couldn't be the starter. IMO, he's a better QB for the Patriots than Cam, but he's not the answer to what the team needs.

The dominos are falling. The Colts didn't have to spend money to get a QB and they sit at #21 in the draft. The Jags will take Lawrenceand that's pretty much a given. The jets have to make a tough decision and they have to do it fairly quick. They have to deal Darnold and draft Wildson, or they have hold on to Darnold and draft Wilson or stick with Darnold. If they stick with Darnold and grab a WR, then the Dolphins will have to do something. During all of this, the Texans are trying to deal Watson and no one wants to give up the haul they're looking to get. Is Darnold and the #2 enough to get Watson? Is Tuas and the #3?.

How about the Steelers? No one mentions the fact that Big Ben counts $41.3M against the 2021 Cap. Think that the Steelers might consider moving him? Cutting him?

Seattle allowing teams to call them about Wilson. Vikings willing to move Cousins.

All of the planets are aligning for the Patriots to start the 2021 season in a much better quarterback position than 2020.

Didn't think Seattle was listening to calls for Wilson anymore @BigKen

Officially, they have said that they re not looking to move him. They did not say that they will not entertain offers. The door is open just a crack if the Texans want to call.

I think they would keep Wilson over Watson imo... But I guess it's open a slight crack

My 2 cents???
Chuckie was not the coach at time of tuck rule.
There will be no QB's, good or bad ready to play from the draft.......
Yeah I think Chuckie was coaching the Raiders that night, went to to Tampa the next season and destroyed the Raiders in the last tackle football game of the year.

Brissett can't do any worse than Cam. Can't believe anyone including BB thinks Cam can have a winning season regardless of what talent you put around him. His mechanics post surgery are awful. He wasn't accurate from 5 yards. So unless someone is working on his mechanics and he's able to adapt then I will take literally anyone over Cam.

Send Cam and Bolden packing. We don't need Bolden sucking up a roster spot again.

If it were only his mechanics. He can't make rapid decisions. There's no improv beyond pulling out of a sack....

This may seem silly, but I'm glad I got to know the guy. I thought his person was totally different and I didn't like that guy. I like the guy I now know him as... but not as my teams future QB.

Quicker decisions could come with better talent around him as well as a full (or close to full) year of camps/OTAs...

But his shoulder doesn't seem right. So if the Docs or physio types can't correct that, you can give him all day in the pocket and he still won't be able to hit a RB @ 5 yds coming out of the backfield accurately.

Houston made an announcement yesterday that Watson will NOT be trade3d and he will be the Texans QB in 2021.

So someone in the Hierarchy has basically told him to shut his f*king mouth and honor his contract or sit out for the next four years. Watson has not responded. Maybe there's a lawyer who figured an angle that might put an end to these players not fulfilling the terms of a legal contract in pro sports.

Can't ignore the terms of a mortgage or loan contract, can't tell the bank your taking a year off from paying a loan. What's the difference. A new movement?? LDM. Loans Don't Matter. FPYB. F*ck Paying You Back.

This is crazy... It sure indicates drafting a QB in the first round ain't a good choice.... It contradicts other evidence suggesting that almost all good QBs are drafted in the first round.

Bucc's, Jags, Vikings, Broncos, Browns and Titans on that list twice.

At least, not counting later round picks.

With Houston in last place and likely to stay there, Watson has little power by holding out.
He sits, doesnt get paid. Houston tanks and gets a great draft pick.
Going to win 2 games instead of 4 and save a ton of money? Go ahead, sit!
On your own dime and time!

Well, then you gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em....

Whatever window of opportunity the Pats had left at the end of the Brady Era is almost gone anyway.
You are right, it's because the Pat use their wisdom to walk through doors.

As we all make our thoughts known and attempt to solve all of the perceived Patriots' problems, how about a tiny twist?

BB isn't looking to draft a quarterback until the fifth or sixth or maybe even the seventh round. Why you ask? Because he has his startng quarterback already on the roster. Jarrett Stidham. Forget 2020. The reason that BB didn't play him was because he knew that he wouldn't have the adequate targets to make the passing game even worth attempting to try. Having a veteran like Cam who is trying to resurrect his career at any cost was the perfect foil. Now here we are in 2021. There are nearly 100 free agent WRs and and an equal number available in the draft. There are a couple of able, not great WRs on the roster and Bill can sign one or two and draft another, maybe at 15. Or maybe he trades #15 and moves down in the draft and picks up a 3rd round pick with the move that he lost when the league took it away for the Bengals game videos.

Cam's not coming back. Why would Bill bring him back for another 7-9 go around. Getting a Darnold or a JG makes a lot more sense, but it will also cost him picks and that doesn't always work well.

There's been talk that Minnesota is open to trading Kirk Cousins. Part of the reason the Vikings are so limited with their salary cap space is due to the contract Cousins is currently signed to. At the time of his signing in 2018, it was the highest dollar amount in NFL history. That original three-year contract has technically expired, but Cousins and the Vikings agreed to a two-year, $66 million extension during the 2019 offseason to keep him under contract through 2022. That extension starts when the 2021 season begins. Earning $21 million in base salary plus the $10 million signing guarantee puts his total cap number at $31 million this upcoming season. In 2022, his base salary jumps to $35 million on top of his $10 million bonus for a cap hit of $45 million. The Vikings would have to pick up the $10M signing guarantee in 2021 and the $10M Bonus in 2022. Cousins would coat the Patriots $21M in 2021 and $35M in 2022.

Two common sense ways to get Cousins. (1) Trader Stephon Gilmore straight up. Cousins hit would be $4M in 2021 and $35M in 2022. OR (2) Trade 2021 2nd round, 6th round and 2022 7th round pick. Minnesota gets out of cap hell and the Patriots gets a real veteran quarterback. If Cousins doesn't have a great year, attempt to renegotiate his contract down to a reasonable dollar. Or renegotiate his present contract before completing the trade.

Teams are going to have to work out of cap hell. While that's true, they are not likely going to be looking to do it by dumping a viable QB.
They dont want to be in the Patriots position.
