Bam will have a great chance to show the world he’s been over looked. I’m thinking he draws the assignment on Giannis although Spo is crafty and he may come up with a better team plan (aka build the wall in the lane) rather than having Bam singled up on Giannis.

Saying a team ranked top 10 in defense isnt very good is hilarious lmaoo

At this point it is clear you are just looking for reasons to be offended.

The Heat defense was not VERY GOOD. That doesn't mean they were bad. Or even mediocre.

I could make an equally strong case that neither Embiid or Simmons deserve it because they each make the other’s job a lot easier.

Bam is as deserving as anyone. Not only to be a finalist, but to win.
AD deserves it.

Homer analysis is my favorite analysis.

lol

Yeah, had they not been out for so long, Lebron would be solidly in the MVP discussion and AD would be in the thick of the DPOY discussion.

Can't really be in those discussions missing that many games though.

Still waiting to hear which finalist he's clearly better than. Clearly not Simmons or Gobert, so......Dray?

Bam is 9th in defensive rating. If anything, Capela should be upset...and Gobert should win going away.

Well, maybe they would have been with a full season of health.

Bam was healthy and he was awesome.

Ben freaking Simmons dropped 40 on his head lol. Gobert is a good defender but he also limited. Good at protecting the paint and defending centers. Now ask him to get swtiched on a guard and he becomes a poor defender. Bam, Simmons, and Draymond can all guard way more positions

Came across this and thought was kind of amusing. a quote from an article early in Lebron's tenure here. Guess Love was just following his lead....

"At the beginning of the season, LeBron could not believe how much of a ball hog Dion Waiters and Kyrie Irving were," Windhorst told Simmons, according to Larry Brown Sports. "Their first road trip, they were out west, Kyrie played something like 70 consecutive minutes without an assist. LeBron could not believe it. The first night, he got so frustrated with a game in Portland that he just basically stood over in the corner.

Yeah.

I honestly find it a little odd how much love Gobert gets for this award.

He is a very good defender.

If it were 1990 he should get the award every year.

But this isn’t 1990. The way bigs are asked to defend has changed a lot and Gobert is not the best defender at his position when we are evaluating how modern bigs are asked to defend.

IMO, Bam probably is the best modern big defender in the league.

Bam and Simmons are top 2 DPOY for me.

Nba playoffs in full swing now and ESPN is scrolling that the idea of a mid season tournsnent is coming together. I guess we should just do away with the regular season.

Not going to lie, I didn't understand the point of this mid season tournament when they first brought it up in 2019 and I still don't.....just seems pretty pointless

If we can reduce the number of regular season games and then have some sort of in season tournament to replace those missed games, I'm all for it.

The NBA is all about the playoffs and having pointless games where teams sit their stars to prep for the playoffs seems dumb.
