Would you give up Larry Nance in a trade for John Collins?

Obviously, Collins is the better player but that isn’t the dilemma here. I’m not sure who else would be involved but Collins is probably wanting max or near max so around $30M. That is a lot.

Obviously you trade Drummond or let him walk at the end of the season but then Kevin Love is the obstacle. If you do trade for Collins, you can’t be paying two PF’s $60M total.

But it is intriguing with a lineup of:

Garland
Sexton
Okoro
Collins
Allen

Porter Jr
Osman
Windler
Prince

I guess the Allen trade does mean Dre looking for another team again

The problem is that some teams will just game the system. The Sixers will be playing their 4th game tonight while be severely limited due to quarantine tonight. The Nuggets game last week was absolutely ridiculous. And the league's position was that they couldn't screw up the schedule so they make the Sixers play with 7, 4 of which were rookies. Yet the Celtics get 3 straight postponements.

A team might be able to game the system some by claiming a player or 2 has some vague injury like a "strain" or something. I don't think they could game the system with Covid numbers since I'm sure those are tracked by the league.

We are already seeing the various quarantines having a pretty disparate impact on teams.

It's hard to know who/what to blame there too. Some teams, like the Heat, Celtics and Sixers have ben hit hard. Meanwhile, the Lakers lost Caruso for a few days because of contact tracing and that's been it, despite numbers going up all over California.

The Pacers have a squad, think they may be flying under the radar in the EC.

And LeVert is a solid replacement for Oladipo and possibly an upgrade on a better contract.

Well the issue comes down to things like contact tracing. The Sixers could have simply added 2 or 3 players to their "close contact" list and quarantined them leaving them clearly under the minimum.

They still have the same problem. No go to star that can carry the team in the playoffs.

I agree with whomever said the NBA teams should be able carry 20 or so players.

Brogdon and Sabonis (especially him) have been playing really well and they are adding LeVert who may be ready to come into his own.

They are a pretty deep team.

Did anyone make the joke that with all the weight Jokic lost in the off-season, Harden appears to have found it?

his metrics look similar to last year. Wiggins problem has typically been help defense

Ahhh gotcha. I'm seeing very few mental lapses from him with respects to help defense. A lot of his blocks have come on weakside help, so that's encouraging.

They are a good team. No question. I just don't think they are likely to reach the conference finals much less the NBA finals with that team.

We say the same thing every year with this team.

Thought Boston would he back in action soon. Didn't expect the league to give them a week off to get all their players back. Thought it would be like Miami where one game is postponed then back in action afterwards Adam Silver dropped the ball
There's your problem. Did you expect Silver to guide this seamlessly? That guy is useless.

Maybe but if they get back Warren....and with the addition of LeVert I think they can be a sleeper.....not saying they'll get to the Finals but they could be a really tough out and push a team that is better than them to 7 games.

I def see them getting to the EC semis and won't be surprised if they make it to the ECF.

I don't know a lot about how it's done. But my guess is that the league monitors that very closely as well.

Some great players... but that's a poorly constructed team.

Screams "less than the sum of its parts"

The NBA today is about passing, spacing, movement, and defensive versatility... you simply don't need 3 dominant ISO guys... diminishing returns on that front...

Any while Harris is a great role player... the rest of the roster (outside the big 3) is underwhelming... I think Green is a little past it... there's a lack of size... a lack of toughness... a lack of defense.

That team ain't going to the Finals.
Seems like another deal where a team went for a name player and didn't even care about fit.

Is it like NFL where they wear a device to monitor? Pretty sure it notes if they are within 6 feet of someone either for 10 or 15 minutes. If they are, then deemed a contact trace.
