I agree this whole situation is a mess. I’m wondering if that’s because they have Covid positives va contract tracing?

idk.

we all knew this was gonna get messy.

they need to bubble up for the playoffs again.

I think they will need to bubble up at least for the next 2 months.

The problem with the Nets is that they are PAPER thin. They have one center with ANY experience(Jordan) and 2 power forwards(Durant and Green). They are going to need 30+ year old KD and Harden to log a LOT of miles this season.
Yeah. I like some of their bench guys (was a big clazton fan before the draft), but they really lost all their depth between the injury to dinwiddie and this deal.

for that much they should’ve also gotten PJ tucker in the deal

League forcing other teams to play while allowing the celtics a week off due to covid is so unfair. There is really no difference between having 7 or 8 players available. As i said before there is more of an asterisk on this season than the playoffs we had in the bubble
Not really

the players hated the bubble. I guess living in peaceful serenity and only getting focus on the thing you love doing most was too hard for most of them.

so I don’t see it happening before the playoffs

Yeah they hated the bubble. They didn't mind their paychecks though.

Not true.

Reggie Perry scored 11 points and had 5 rebounds last night, kid looks like he can play and they only need 8-10mpg. Nicolas Claxton is hurt (minor injury) but he can play C for 8-10mpg.....Green can play small ball center for limited stretches......

They will pick up some players that get released after the trade deadline.....and can also trade Irving for some bench depth.....

Reggie Perry has 5 nba games. Claxton has 15. You think that qualifies as experienced? Isaiah Joe has 7 games under his belt for the Sixers and scored 13,18,13 in his last 3 games. I guess he's now an experience 2 guard.

I'm sure they will try to get some guys off the buyout market. But that can be very hit or miss and usually doesn't do more than get you warm bodies.

What team is going to want to trade for Kyrie Irving? And if they DO trade Irving, somehow, they are going to need picks back.

I'm sure they will find some players but even getting replacement level players will be a challenge.

They went from the deepest team to this but with 3 roster spots open, expect them to be major players in the buyout period later this season

Yeah analytics liked joe and claxton, sending them to a team who is analytically inclined for a veteran their teams can trus is an option.

plus the nets need to sign Shabazz Napier

We are already seeing the various quarantines having a pretty disparate impact on teams.

Im ok with it for one game but forcing a team to play 3-4 games with 8 players is just bad. I hope they figure out something where more than half a team don't have to miss a week of games due to contact tracing

:L

They aren't going to start.....they will play limited minutes.....and they won't play Claxton at C and Perry at PF at the same time, they will rest KD and Harden at different times.....and always have a scorer in the game.....8-10mpg isn't a crazy amount of minutes.

Is Markieff Morris a replacement level player? The Lakers snagged him last year.

Who knew Markieff Morris was just a warm body? He was a pretty key role player in the Lakers title run....

Agreed. Haven't heard about how many players are supposed to be dressed for tonight's Sixers-Heat game yet.

Heat still at 8. Sixers seem back to normal except seth according to a heat beat writer. Seems like Tobias and Milton will be back

Also weird that they are playing a home and home again series again, isn't it? I don't recall ever seeing 2 teams playing 2 straight at the same location, bubble excluded.

it makes perfect sense to limit travel as much as possible
