according to look out landing....
On Tuesday, Baseball America released their annual international signing bonus big board, this edition for the 2021-2022 signing class. The Mariners are listed as the favorites to sign two of the top 30 prospects on the board. While we were aware of Dominican shortstop Martin Gonzales, ranked no. 18 overall on the board, the big surprise came with Seattle listed as the favorite to sign no. 5 overall prospect Lazaro Montes, a 1B/OF out of Cuba.

A name that was brought up by Corey Brock of The Athletic was Michael Conforto. What do you guys think of that? Former All-Star, went to Redmond HS, played for Oregon State, I'd imagine he'd be open to coming back home to play in front of his family.

My new ideal offseason:
- Trade Kelenic for Bryan Reynolds
- Sign Michael Conforto
- Sign Kris Bryant
- Trade for Sonny Gray
- Sign Nelson Cruz (just because it makes this thought experiment more fun)

This is the team we'd have:
C: Raleigh/Murphy
1B: Ty France
2B: Adam Frazier
SS: J.P. Crawford
3B: Kris Bryant
RF: Mitch Haniger
CF: Bryan Reynolds
LF: Michael Conforto
DH: Nelson Cruz

SP: Robbie Ray
SP: Sonny Gray
SP: Marco Gonzales
SP: Chris Flexen
SP: Logan Gilbert

I think that would be a pretty good team.
Ya I keep reading that but he turned down his $18.4M tag so he won't be cheap and he just hasn't been great lately. His path reminds me of Lewis. The greatest ability is availability as they say.

i do have one thing...to..say....it is about...seager...''if they do not get bryant...then seager...is prob the next best choice...unless they trade..
for miranda...and he starts..in the minors...prob..unless he kills it in spring training...this..... team...was built around...seager...haniger...and gonzales...

replacing one of them now......is hard....verry hard....2 more years of seager...would be ok with me...just saying....

kik the can.....down the road...keep one of the good..all time mariners.....even i could sell...that.....

then sign conforto...and trade for naquin...if ...needs be..

It's not an idea that has been floated and adding Cruz would mean we wouldn't be able to DH Kyle Lewis but part of me really loves the idea. He didn't hit particularly well for the Rays, but who cares.

My only reservation is that I love Nelson Cruz so much I'd be extremely sad if he doesn't continue to defy his age.
I would love to have Cruz back but there is the Kyle Lewis and Mitch Haniger problem because both will have to DH some and you can’t put Cruz in the field. Package Lewis in that A’s trade idea we have tossed out there, or really any trade then there is room.

It is a solid team but if that is the projected opening day lineup then Jerry desperately needs another catcher IMO.
