I wouldn’t say it is American because Beltre was worse than Seager at it. Beltre proved he could hit .350 if he used the whole field, I don’t think Seager’s average goes up much at all if the shift were banned.Bret Boone abused the right field bleacher seats at Safeco. Edgar was a polished opposite field hitter too. But, there's no value on being a diverse hitter in baseball anymore. We are in an all-or-nothing era now. It is a true representation of the current overall American social mindset. Americans love feats of power and they seem to crave quantity over quality.
Kyle Seager could have extended his career 2 or 3 more years. But, I got the impression that the guy was a baseball purist and he didn't care much for the direction the game was going, nor the type of player he had to become (another dime-a-donen, all-or-nothing guy) to remain in the game. So he got out.
I will say you can say this or that with the Mariners but one thing they are A+ at is PR. That video with JRod making the team I honestly think brings more excitement than any of the FA’s they didn’t get.
Another fleecing of the Padres wouldn’t hurt.
Yes when you were the 2nd worst offense last year. Torrens bat is better than Souza's. I would have liked Souza to make, but has never been the prospect a lot of teams have hoped. I hope he sticks in the organization for depth.Ok, we have disagreed on Torrens vs pitching but can you justify Torrens over Souza? Moore as the 4th OF is very concerning IMO
They're all in for sure w/ Manny going to SS...I would like to start hearing some Ramirez to Seattle rumors.
