My issue with Jerry is he has harped on a 6 man rotation but he has a great chance that helps everyone involved with Brash and Kirby being 5 and 6. At a must they need to get Kirby significant time because Kirby or Hancock will not in the organization come deadline. I am very pro defined roles in the bullpen, but my generation has passed on a closer being the 9th inning guy to now this goofy high leverage pitcher which is how it appears for the M’s.I thought about keeping Brash and Kirby but flip flopping them might screw both up and putting one in the pen might screw that one up. I heard Brash say he felt off in his first outing because he came in relief and it threw off his routine. Pitchers are odd and routine means everything to them.
Agreed but not sure Dipoto would. My issue with Jerry is he has harped on a 6 man rotation but he has a great chance that helps everyone involved with Brash and Kirby being 5 and 6. I know he doesn’t because I think his biggest flaw is trying to be the smartest man in the room. Overall it is a positive but in baseball every person from GM to player has to check their ego.Agreed but not sure Dipoto would.
I completely understand disappointment because that is the goal of every starting pitcher. But hopefully they sat him down and acknowledge that if he pitches the way he has for stretches he will be going up against other teams non aces which in theory gives him a better chance at success.
after last years debacle with Seager, I am not sure they are the best communicators. I worry about this one being an issue down the road if not handled right though it was the right decision.I completely understand disappointment because that is the goal of every starting pitcher.
