If Klay does end up having a full tear, it likely means the window for the Warriors closes. Klay will have then gone two full years without playing. Even when he comes back there’s no guarantees on how he will perform. Their shot to contend for a championship reduces greatly.

Crazy enough the things that might likely save this team going forward are the two things that most everyone thought they would deal yesterday....Andrew Wiggins and the 2nd pick (James Wiseman).

Im still holding out hope for Klay but it’s mostly just because I feel bad for him more than the Warriors. Dude loves like 3 things in like and one is hooping.

Curious what they do with the tpe and the mle.

and if they get multi year guys.

Justin Holliday would be a good get for the mle.

need a 3 for the tpe

and then a few vet ring chasers.

totally sucks because i was looking forward to the Lakers having some competition- but this is what happens when guys start getting older, have al ot of miles on their odometers, and are coming off major injury. Maybe they compensate a little bit or a bit tentative and this happens.

Hopefully it is something that can be rehabbed and he can get back on the court sooner than later. As much as i do not like the Warriors- having a LA vs/ LA 6 month jerk-fest in the West is not my idea of enjoyable basketball. (though the Mavs, Jazz, Nuggets, maybe even the Suns could be very interesting).

Well look who's come outta hiding. Don't you have bet to settle from the Browns/Raiders game?

Morning after and I feel a lot better about all of the Sixers moves.
they have competent leadership for the first time in a while in the front office. Leadership that is experienced and knows how to get deals done and form a team instead of a collection of talent. Its a little one step back to go two steps forward but it all just comes down to Simmons and Embiid anyway.

I mean, sure obviously it hurts. But it depends on what he has coming back. If he's 80%+ and they get lucky with Wiseman and Wiggins steps up, that's still a contender (just one of many as opposed to a no doubt winner). It's not for sure they are done. But they might be.

Seeing how the older Durant plays this year might give some clues. If he looks good maybe Klay will too.

with that being said- feel free to tell me that I was right when I said Klay's best basketball was behind him

Wiseman? ehhh.

best talent by far in the draft. Who knows though. Big men are just so de-valued right now. He can run the court though so maybe itll work out.

All comes down to what is between his ears. I'd give it a coin flip.

Maybe....but Durant is coming off missing 1 year with 1 major injury. If the worst is true about Klay itll be what? like more than 2 years since he had stepped on a court with major knee and Achilles surgery? Finding a comp. for that is not easy. I dont think its the worst comp (Durant) i have ever heard but 2+ years away from the game is a long time (if the worst is true).

Not really. We don't know how he was gonna look, the knee thing wasn't that scary. A full achilles tear though on top of it....just bad luck. Still 80%+ is certainly possible

Yes there's a worst case scenario, and a best case, and everything in between. We don't know yet.

I'd expect that it will hurt him more on defense than offense. As long as he can still shoot, he'll be fine on that end.

Agreed, but the D is what makes him so valuable. Lotta shooters out there. We'll just have to see.

I knew Klay's new injury would bring @WiggyRuss back LOL
well that and the draft.....i mean- i got a promotion at work and have a girlfriend - and spending hours a week posting on a sports website just became much less of a priority.

and just to add---- i was okay with the Okoro pick for the Cavs. Reminds me of the Sexton pick a little bit--- counting on a guys work ethic and drive more than anything else.

Toppin and Avieda were more talented- but neither of those guys are really great fits in todays NBA since they both look like big liabilities defensively that will preclude them from playing the 3. Toppin has some Amare upside.

Okoro is what the Cavs needed- a wing player with top level athleticism that can play D, with a great work ethic and a lot of drive. Hopefully, like Sexton who's outside shot was questioned coming in, he can work on his outside shot and become a core player.

Haliburton really intrigued me too though.

Finally got laid, eh? See what you've been missing?

Cavs...man you guys are still so far away from anything meaningful it's kind of sad.
