Milwaukee is better today than they were yesterday morning and yet if Harden winds up on either the Nets or Sixers they will still only be the third best team in the east with potentially two stars on the verge of departing via free agency. That's a god damn gamble right there lol

Yep but if they sign Giannis long-term than the deed is done....if it doesn't work either they mix up the roster again or Giannis once out eventually.

Oh I respect the hell out of it. Gotta try something. If a once in a generation player like Giannis even hints that he might want to stay in a market like Milwaukee you gotta take that chance.

If Giannis/Jrue stay, they should be in the running for top 5 in the East for the next 5 seasons.

So they basically give up two unprotected late firsts in 25 and 27 and IND's 2020 1st rd pick (#24).
And the swap rights means they basically keep their late 1sts in 24 and 26.
Unless NO finishes with a better record than them in 24 and 26.
But, even then, swapping two late 1st round picks.
It's not really 5 1st rounders.

Essentially, 3 late 1st round picks which are crap shoots anyway, though maybe not as much with high school players opting in.

Yep and really everything fell into place for the Lakers and those players played well. Gonna be an obstacle for sure.

Agree. It wasn't exactly like what happened with the Raptors, but it was similar. The teams that were considered the biggest threats didn't make it and while Miami wasn't decimated with injuries like the Warriors, they weren't 100% either.

On paper the Bucks would be 3rd best, but I don't think that's how it would play out on the court.

I don't see how adding a ball dominant player to a team that already has a ball dominant player and another player who left a championship team because he wasn't getting enough touches has much chance of working.

Not sure how Embiid and Simmons would like getting out of the way and letting Harden do his thing every time down the floor either. Although it probably has a better chance of working with them than the Nets.

Timberwolves reportedly choosing between Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball with first pick

I don't know if teams are just unsure how good he'll be or if they're afraid that Lavar will start his shit again (or both) but I think LaMelo has been predicted for the widest range of anyone in this draft. I've seen him predicted as high as #1 and as low as 6 or 7. I think I even saw him at 8. lol

If I was Houston and Harden is trying to "force his way out"...I would get all those players and a ton of pick...

LeVert
Prince
Dinwiddie
Allen
2020 pick #19
2022-2026 1st's

The more assets the better. They can flip Prince or one of these guys if they don't like the fit and try to get 5-6 1st round picks and if Kyrie and/or KD leave they will be screwed, like the Clippers.

What 1sts does BRK have in their war chest?
They can't trade consecutive 1sts, so every other year has to be a swap option.

But, yeah, I see where you're going with this.
Unfortunately, barring injury, all of those BRK 1sts will be late picks, just like in the MIL Jrue trade.

If they can re-sign Jrue you at least have him Bogdan and Kris i guess

Yeah I mean the talent between those 3 is just insane and I think if it was just KD and Harden...that would be fun but then you have Kyrie. Who knows he might try to force his way out before they get on the court? Then you have the Kyrie injury concerns and KD injury concerns...if they could field some depth on this team...one good thing is those guys could take breaks and kind of play limited minutes. Each one of those guys can carry an offense for stretches, especially Harden and KD. I would put all 3 out on the court together that would be an incredible challenge for any coach let alone a rookie head coach. IDK what to think about it honestly. I wouldn't say it's a great defensive squad either, Kyrie and Harden are below average to average defenders at best.

I don't know how the Nets make it work either but I'm sure there's a way to do so that people much smarter than me could come up with (not sure Steve Nash is that guy though). Would obviously need a buy-in from all three but I'm sure they would make sure that happens before pulling the trigger.

Embiid and Simmons...they just watched a similar player leave and go to a Final elsewhere. If they've learned nothing in the last year then they're just screwed eternally.

Other than the rumors of talking to Rondo...it seems like the Clippers have been pretty quiet this off-season.

That's what I thought too but LAC traded their 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 1st's. I thought you could only trade every other year picks...

They are working on a trade for Harden and a sign-and-trade with Giannis don't worry lol

Gotchya. Make them swaps...get as many picks as possible. If those guys don't stay in Brooklyn those future picks could turn out being damn good.

Who knows he might try to force his way out before they get on the court?

Wasn't there an article or tweet or something that suggested that Harden wants to go to the Nets, but Kyrie doesn't want him there. That could be a little....awkward. lol

Then you have the Kyrie injury concerns and KD injury concerns...if they could field some depth on this team...one good thing is those guys could take breaks and kind of play limited minutes. Each one of those guys can carry an offense for stretches, especially Harden and KD. I wouldn't say it's a great defensive squad either, Kyrie and Harden are below average to average defenders at best.

If those 3 can figure out how to play together, they would be extremely scary. But so far, KD is really the only one who has shown any kind of ability to play alongside a star player, and even he still left when it expanded to 3 star players and limited his touches.
