Basketball back boys. This free agency period going to be wild. Signings and trades should come fast and furious. Cant sit on your ass for a few weeks before signing those role players as you normally would. You're going to want these guys in camp with you

Lol most I'll offer is 11-13 mil per year.

Well, his base salary for this coming season is $3.5 million and last year, he got $1.9 million. So $11-13 million per would be a sizeable raise. I might go as high as $15 million depending on how the rest of the roster shakes out.

that dollar amount makes it easy for me to put him in a Paul deal.

I don't know. I'm not really on board with a deal for CP3.

The positive is that he just came off of a very good season and he did play in 70 games which is his most since 2015-16. He averaged 18 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and shot 37% from 3. If he can stay healthy, he would be a huge pickup for the Lakers and would work well alongside Lebron and AD.

The problem is that he's 35 and hasn't been all that healthy for much of his career. He also has had a penchant for getting injured at the worst possible time (late in the season and playoffs).

Lakers fans have seen this movie when they traded for Steve Nash. It didn't end well. The hero lost and didn't even get the girl.

Kuzma is young, athletic and seems to have the work ethic to be a good player. I know the Lakers are in "win now" mode, which is a big part of why this is even a consideration for them. If Kuzma asks for some crazy amount of money, then I'd cut him loose and go ahead and try to make the deal.

But, if it's a reasonable amount, then I'd prefer they keep him and look for a "sniper" type player or 2 to address their inconsistent (at best) 3 point shooting.

So far, the Lakers are rumored to be interested in Tristan Thompson and Serge Ibaka. I also heard that they may kick the tires on Darren Collison again.

Thompson would be a good pickup, imo. He brings elite level defense and rebounding, knows how to play alongside Lebron and will still get about 10-14 ppg without having any plays run for him. He's also only 29. He can keep AD from having to play the 5 as well.

Ibaka would be good as well. He's not old (31) but older than TT. He does bring 36% shooting from 3 (38% last year) that TT doesn't.

Collison is 33, but hasn't played in a couple of years, saving some wear and tear. He'd be good if Rondo doesn't re-sign. Especially since he's a career 40% from 3.

TT and Ibaka would be great options. I heard they wanted to split that mid-level with two players. They most likely couldn’t do that with Ibaka or even Gallinari. TT could accept less to be on a contender though, definitely a possibility. Ibaka could spread the floor and probably the better option imo. Gallinari is the best option but not sure what those odds are to the Lakers

Son of a bitch! I went to read the new Zach Lowe article and its paywalled. Turns out ESPN has put ALL its writers behind a paywall now.

So...anybody know way to get around the paywall?

Do I look like I just have money laying around?

*puts drink down on a coaster which is a 5 dollar bill*

But nah. It was just that article about Philly's new jerseys. I've seen the pictures elsewhere. It's still bullshit though. You would have thought they would have made more of an announcement that literally all their written content (non-news breaking) is now going to ESPN+. They have an announcement buried in their site, but still. They should have had like flashing ads as soon as you go to the ESPN homepage.

BTW, can you adjust the video quality on ESPN+ or does it all stream 720 or higher? Like if I wanted to watch on my phone, can I drop it down to 480 or maybe even 360?
