He does not lower his shoulder. We could argue about this all day, but that's perfect CB play.

I'm a Seahawks fan and that was not PI. They both got to the same spot at the same time. Wilson led his receiver (which he should). Because the DB read the play perfectly, it put him in a slightly better position to catch the ball than than the receiver. If that DB is a split second later, it's a touchdown. If he's a split second earlier, it's PI.

I really wanted that to be PI, but it just wasn't.

If they got there at the same time the physics of the collision would be wildly different.

he 100% lead with his shoulder.

Disagree. They were headed to the same spot from different directions. The DB could see he was going to get there in time to have a chance to not just knock the ball down, but to intercept it. He was positioning his body to catch the ball. Had he been leading with his shoulder, he's not likely in position to catch the ball because he would have been going after the receiver, not the ball.

Additionally, leading with his shoulder does not constitute PI. PI is whether or not he got there before the ball arrived. He got there at the same time as the ball. There wasn't even a targeting or "defenseless player" penalty to call since the contact was shoulder to shoulder.

It was simply a case of good offense being beaten by better defense. I'd have loved for it to be PI or any other penalty they could come up with, but there just wasn't a call to be made.

he clearly makes contact with the player before the ball gets there.

he uses the shoulder to dislodge the wr. If they got there at the same time he wouldn’t have fallen back to the 5 yard line the way he did

lol

He got there at the same time and yes he would because the defender was coming from slightly behind the receiver who was focused on both the QB and the ball. The receiver didn't know he was about to be hit, so he didn't prepare to absorb the hit. Had he known he was going to be hit, he could have adjusted to at least keep the DB from making the pick.

The DB just made a great play.

He got to the ball the same time he made contact.

Beal has 2 years left on his deal....this season will be interesting with RW.....

I can think of 1 team that would love to add him to give them a big 3.

The Wizards obviously aren’t trading Beal now.

And if they did, the Lakers don’t have enough tradeable assets to pull it off.

Do you not want them to have to even break a sweat? I like competition.

Dude, at :40 he's clearly staring at the ball and there's a bump as they both go for the ball. Butler simply jumps the route.I hate the Patriots and would've loved a PI call, but that is in no way PI. If they called PI in the Bears Giants game, and it was exactly similar to this play, then the refs in that game fucked up.

yah thats not PI

now this?

BLATANT PI
