So a big no to any trade with the Sabres, they suck! I think we'll see the Ekholm trade happen I just hope we don't over pay for him.

keep in mind that Risto was battling a pretty severe case of covid. I'm not sure if that is his problem or not? Some guys simply just need a change of scenery. When you are drafted by a shit team and losing is the norm, these guys just all look bad. IE.look at Jeff Skinner now. The guy was great in Carolina and his first couple of years in Buffalo. Now he's been a healthy scratch. Look at Dahlin was a top pick and he's not much better than Risto stays wise.

On paper they have a half decent team but its hard to even watch them right now.

I mean can you imagine being a fan of that fan base and not making the playoffs since 2011? I mean look at how many top 5 draft picks and first rounders and here we are today. We are fortunate that we have been competitive and made the playoffs. And here is the thing, win or lose, they support those Sabres. It's like the old Cleveland Browns in a way.

That's a major oof in the 1st round. They basically got 1 true top of the lineup player in all that. Still time for Cozens and Quinn I suppose, but damn. Something is horribly wrong in their scouting department or they can't develop players to save their lives.

I feel for Sabres fans. They're a passionate bunch. Ratings for the cup finals in the US are almost always the two partaking cities, then Buffalo.

Yeah. I've been collecting hockey cards for years. I have some locked up and maybe one day I will sell them? My prized ones are rookie, graded by Becket, and some autographed. Ex. Sid Crosby UD black diamond, Lindros, Prov, Pelle Lindbergh, Gretzky( worth a lot). Vasilevsky, and Carter Hart just to name a few. My son's future college tuition, lol. He's looking at MIT.

TSN has David Savard as the #2 on the trade bait board. If CBJ is selling he’s almost a better fit than Ekholm. RH, and UFA at the end of the year. Also a big, physical presence type guy.

He’s not as good as Ekholm IMO, but he is a bit better of a roster fit.

The biggest problem is what do you give up? If he is what he is, how big of a risk are you willing to take. If it was a super cheap deal then yes I'd be on board, any physicality would be wel come at this point.
