Right, because the team with the best odds to win the cup wins it every year. :rolleyes2:
We are very lucky to have the 18 points that we do have so you know as well as i do that we should be closer to 10 than 5.

Closer to 10 not 5 I can agree with. It's still a good team though. Just need it to gel and to add a piece or two more to get into the top 5. IMO, the best way to win a cup is to be one of those top 5 teams for as many seasons as you can. Obviously being #1 multiple seasons in a row would be ideal, but that's not realistic.

The Flyers are not that far away. It wouldn't be that surprising to see them make a run. That's what I take from Vegas odds like that.

Trying to be a top 5 team for as many seasons as you can would be great but Gee and Jake aren't getting any younger. We are in win now mode at this point.

Agreed. Which is why they should be looking to add by the deadline, if not sooner.

Since we're bored. Who do the Flyers protect in the expansion draft? You get two choices, 7 F / 3 D / 1 G or 8 skaters and 1 G.

- Giroux and Hayes have NMC and most likely have to be protected (unless they waive, but I doubt the Flyers even ask)
- Farabee, Frost are exempt. The rest of the notable younger guys, Phantoms, coolege, Juniors, overseas, etc. are also exempt.

37 fights around the league this year in 337 games.

I believe fighting was at a rate of 0.19 per game last season

To have that percentage there would have to be 6 fights in 337 games

Id say fighting is way up league wide

.19 (last year rate) x 337 (games this year) = 64 expected fights based on last year fight rate. 37 fights this year, down 42%.

need someone to check my (and LAS’) math.

Talk about bored - doing math on a hockey board (lol)

Check my math but im pretty sure i have it right.

To have the same percentage from last year there would have had to be 6 fights in 337 games

Type into google NHL fight total 2020 and they have an article that gives the info
