David Kase was a fifth round pick and he go a cup of coffee with our big club so hopefully "the destroyer" is better. He's got a long way to go I think. According to this article (NHL Draft Pick Probabilities) only 15% of 5th rounders play > 99 games in the NHL. So he's still got a long way to go to beat those odds at all.
But if things do go smoothly and he keeps getting better and better, I would expect this year and next year in the QMJHL. The year after with the Phantoms. And then we could start talking about being on the NHL/AHL bubble at training camp in 2023. But that's probably a best case scenario. Morgan Frost was drafted in 2017, spent '17-'18 and '18-'19 in the OHL, '19-'20 primarily in the AHL, and going into the '20-'21 season we're talking about him on the bubble. And he's a first rounder. Lindblom was also a 5th rounder, he took 3.5 years after his draft to make the NHL. His only real knock was skating though and he got that under control.
So if I were a betting man, if Desnoyers makes the NHL, I'd bet it'd be in 2024.
Yea I agree, the crazy part to me though is the Canadian border thing and pretty much a league of their own.Yep. Only makes sense really. I can't see them trying to compete against the Olympics for air time. Particularly since NBC has the rights to both. Plus it gives them an out to get back on a normal schedule and start 2021-22 like normal in Sept/Oct next year.
Good morning boys! I see are still relatively quiet on the Flyers front? Any word when the start of new season begins?
Im hoping for January 1st start date but we will see.Good morning boys! I see things are still relatively quiet on the Flyers front? Any word when the start of new season begins?

Top 10 teams named in the NHL by NBC sports:
1-TB
2-Col
3-LV
4-Bruins
5-Blues
6-Caps
7-Stars
8-Canes
9-Pens
10-Oilers
If the Oilers were dropped from the list they would add the Canucks or FlamesI can listen to the argument for every team on there, except the Oilers. Aside from Draisaitl and McDavid, they're terrible. I also heavily question the Caps and Pens, but the Oilers being on there is ridiculous.
They've got the Islanders 11th and the Flyers 12th.If the Oilers were dropped from the list they would add the Canucks or Flames
No Flyers? I'm laughing because the list has the Caps, Oilers, Canes, and Pens and yet we are not there? Wtf?Top 10 teams named in the NHL by NBC sports:

My simple mind put the Flyers at 8.... that's where we ended up this year... final 8. I don't think we will go backwards this coming season. They've got the Islanders 11th and the Flyers 12th.
NHL Power Rankings: Where things stand after first month of offseason
This week we take an updated look on where the NHL's 31 teams currently stand one month into the offseason.nhl.nbcsports.com
I would probably put the Flyers in the 8-10 range. I think TB, Colorado, Vegas, are clearly better. Boston, St. Louis, and Dallas are probably better. But the Flyers are in the conversation with the Pens, Caps, Canes, and Isles for 7-11. Personally, I'd have the Caps and Pens at 10 and 11. So 7-9 for the Flyers IMO.
After finishing in the top spot last year, 8th thru 10th isn't that encouraging and that is what you are ranking them and we all know you tend to have our players as highly ranked as can be.They've got the Islanders 11th and the Flyers 12th.

This is what im wondering? What did we do to improve? You know what answers we are going to get. Lindblom is back Nolan Patrick is back Frost may make the team and so on. Me personally i dont think thats enough.Maybe the experts saw how exposed our Dmen were last year, didn't see us address this issue and are scoring our rank off of that factor alone. I mean what did we do to improve this off season?
