klahn nishikori has been interesting. nishikori is such a weird player.

also, i LOVE the commentary on espn+. haven't listened to the idiots (i mean, talent) on espn in almost 3 years now, and i don't miss them one bit.

This is around the time in a major that Nishikori has a long 5 set match.

Not sure how that works to be honest but in a case like today I doubt you would. Believe early matches were played on the outer courts plus with the grounds pass, you can get into all the main courts except Ashe. Only thing is it is first come first serve basis.

koepfer reminds me a little of left-handed michael russell. good returner who can nullify pace of big servers. looks like he enjoys working out, and he's a real grinder out there.

his groundstrokes are super loopy, so i think he'll do well on clay, and not so well on grass for the rest of his career.

opelka is going to take a few more years to mature...pretty common for giants.

the koepfer kid's got some game.

goes for too much sometimes, but he is super solid off the baseline.

he can make a nice career for himself.

same for opelka with that serve, of course, but he has a lot more work to to to maximize his game compared to koepfer.

Even though Opelka is up a break in the 3rd, him being down 2 sets has taken some of the enthusiasm away from that match.

i don't really care about nationalities in tennis anymore. it's been so long since we've had a decent american on the men's side, i just watch for the quality of play nowadays.
