Just saw this.

I won't say I enjoyed this but ...I kinda did.

Woodland can't possibly keep this up. Mediocre putters just don't start making everything.. not for 4 days. I'll be surprised if he's still leading after today. I think Rory is the one to beat.. unfortunately, because he seems like kind of a dick.

It's been a few years now since Fox has had the USO....and while it's improved, it still sucks. It takes a lot for me to mute a televised sporting event, but congrats to Fox I guess.

With Kaymer out of it, I'm kinda pulling for either DJ or Rory at this point.

The crowd noise is too prominent imo. That's been a growing trend at some recent majors, though. Idk if that's because the crowds are getting louder and more boisterous or the way they're broadcasting them.

Too many drunks in the crowd.

I'd like to see Kuchar finally get one. He's been in the mix in so many recent ones. Corduroy!

Then Kuch immediately misses a 3-footer for par. Kiss of death.. and here comes Koepka.

It's tough to bet against Koepka, he performs well under the spotlight.

Azinger is horrible & Buck sounds like he is just mailing it in.

Well....so far, no comments about the setup that I have heard...so maybe the USGA gave the players mostly what they thought was fair.

It's not a bomber's course, but we have bombers at the top along with some moderate length players...anybody's tournament imo.

65-66 is out there for somebody like a Rory or Koepka to run up the board...if he shoots 68, -14 it will be hard to beat Woodland.

It's as if they were commenting off camera, and just talking amongst themselves. I always liked Johnny Miller's commentary, and miss him a lot more now.

The one thing I'll say is that Pebble Beach has held up nicely. Yeah, there are some low scores but a lot of that has to do with the general lack of wind. The USGA got it right, but they had to. Screw up at a venue like Pebble....and heads would roll.

Pulling for Rory or Rose at this stage.

Yep...the USGA has deserved it on occasion, but we wonder why he hasn't won a USO yet.

You have to wonder if the USGA is in his head.
I think the USO will always be in his head....

Visually the broadcast has been outstanding. Obviously I've seen many events held there over the years but it's never been nearly this impressive. Probably a combination of improved technology and many more cameras due to it being a major. My wife even watched with me for several hours last night, primarily because of that, and she never watches golf.

But I'm with the others on Buck & Zinger. Zinger comes up with an insightful observation every once in awhlie, but they're few and far between and Buck should just be banned from working anything but baseball. It seems like they got the setup right. It's tough enough that they pay a price for missing fairways and greens, but they didn't go crazy and turn the greens to glass. I hate when they do that to "protect par".

Typical Zinger though, unnecessarly going over the top with his "observation". That's not nearly the first time a tour player has missed an 18" or less putt and it won't be the last.

Regarding Phil....I think the comments from Jack and Koepka play a part in Phil's lack of a USO (where the Majors were easier because some guys would bitch and complain about some aspect and play themselves out of a tournament). I think a lot of it with Mickelson is how he goes into each USO with a pretty negative attitude. Some of it has merit, but some of the things he's said before ever teeing it up speaks to his mindset.

The other, and more obvious reason, is that most setups are narrow fairways and brutal rough, and Mickelson ain't the straightest driver ever.
