Boise State has to play AT Florida State to open 2019 season

Boise State has to replace their four year starting QB (Brett Rypien) and their starting RB (Alexander Mattison - who is entering the NFL draft as a Junior) as well as two of their three starting Wide Receivers (Sean Modster and A.J. Richardson) and their starting Tight End (Chase Blakely).

And the Broncos have to open up next fall playing Florida State in Jacksonville, FL., on August 31st. Florida State may have gone 5-7 last season but they are still a quality football program.

In related news to this Florida State just dismissed QB Deondre Francois from their football team this week. This is likely due to a domestic abuse case in which Francois was alleged to have beaten his pregnant girlfriend last month. Even tho no criminal charges were brought in that case. Francois was also cited for misdemeanor marijuana possession in April of 2018. He sounds like one heck of a guy doesn't he?

He completed 227 of 396 passes last fall (57 %) for 2,731 yards with 15 TDs and 12 INT's and he had a QB Rating of 121.7 as a Junior last season. I have to wonder if this train-wreck is going to be picked up by some other school desperate for a QB for next season.

Florida State's likely replacement for Francois will probably be James Blackman (a Sophomore last fall) who had a QB Rating of 177.1 by completing 33 of 51 pass attempts (64.7 %) for 510 yards with 5 TD's and 1 INT last fall.

Both quarterbacks suck but Blackman is probably the best of the worst. The offense line has been spotty for the past few seasons. Hopefully Boise can take advantage of that.
