Join me in pulling for Charles Howell (the 3rd) to make the cut today.

The amount of promise this guys career had, it was just a matter of time before the victories (major or otherwise) would role in ......until they didn't. It's amazing how little success he has had compared to what everybody said about him when he came on the scene.

Don't know how or why but is seems to re surging this year.

It would be nice just to see him get some camera time if he creep into the top 10.

Always nice to see the GA boys doing well on tour.

The good...he played most of his career in the TW era and has won a LOT of money...$38 mil career PGAT earnings....and counting.

Yep...the USGA has deserved it on occasion, but we wonder why he hasn't won a USO yet.

You have to wonder if the USGA is in his head.

Phil won't win a U.S. Open until he leaves his driver at home. He has known the deal with the brutally punishing rough and the blazing fast greens since his first attempt at winning the U.S. Open in 1992, ironically enough at Pebble Beach.

That he can't hit his driver in the damn fairway consistently is not the fault of the USGA.

Yeah...no doubt.

His beef with the USGA has mostly been centered around the greens I think.

My oldest boy is spending the weekend in the Bay area and will be on the course Sat. and Sunday. They are doing the Napa Valley wine thing today and then heading down to a resort near Pebble Beach. He and his boss are playing Spy Glass Hill early tomorrow and then walking over to meet the wives for lunch and a day of watching the very best golfers on the planet hacking like duffers :D

If you see me sporting a sweet U.S. Open/Pebble Beach shirt later this summer, you'll know where I got it from.

I know they like to mess with these guys with goofy pin placements and rock hard/super fast greens and for 1 tourney a year, I love it.

I think most of the time the players have complained about the USGA setups the greens or greens complexes have been the target....one yr there was a green that was too firm to hold a ball on it. Players were intentionally playing it short and trying to run it up.

For the most part I like the USGA setups...I want to see good shots rewarded and bad shots should be punished more in a major...especially the USO....the USGA is kind of in a tough spot...always straddling the line of fair and unplayable.

No doubt that it's a fine that they toy with and sometimes it becomes unfair. Still makes me chuckle though.

Let's get that women on 18 who wanted to pick up Koepka's ball on the cart path into a meme!

She so almost picked that up... Marshal did a great job to stop her!

The Holy Grail of USGA screw ups in my eyes ..the 7th hole 2004 US Open at Shinnecock.

I watched that live ...the green on the 7th that Sunday was so hard & dry, you could place the ball on the green and it would still roll off. They started to water it during play. See I don't care to hear about hard course conditions because they all get the same course. But to bring in the water during play ...that is unfair to the guys that had to play it before hand.

Seventh green gets water, plenty of attention

"I don't even think the water began to seep into the ground," said Mark Calcavecchia. "I think it just kind of beads up and rolls off like a waxed car."

"By the end of the day, three players had made birdie. There were 28 pars, 27 bogeys, five double bogeys and the three triple bogeys. Only 17.2 percent of the players hit the green in regulation on Sunday; 27.3 percent hit it in regulation on Saturday, and 33.3 percent hit it for the tournament."

I saw that...Just goes to show you how clueless some fans are at golf tournaments.

He did yesterday, more like 3 holes...I'm willing to cut him a little slack....for a so so round by his standards, he's still in the top 20.
I want him to win. I like his "me against the world" attitude. And I love players who come up big in the big events.

She should be run from the property. if you don't know the rules, you shouldn't be allowed in.

All the sycophantic knob-gobbling of Woods by the fans and announcers makes you root even harder against the guy.

Thanks to FOX and horse face Joe Buck. Jack was such a professional on the mike and his kid sucks.

But its not just Buck. The CBS and NBC guys do it too with the exception of Johnny Miller.
