Keller is starting tomorrow which is good.
But Neveranout is recalled also, which is bad...very bad.

After a decade of being a prospect and never materializing Kingham left for cash considerations. Stinks they couldn't deal him when he was still considered a prospect.

Looks like another year for a fight for the basement. Hard to win when your pitching isn't good, and what you have that is good/decent is hurt. Hope they can rebound and get healthy for next year, and pick up an arm or two

If the Pirates had a couple more good arms, they’d be playoff caliber. They can hit a ton.

Yeah Archer has been bad and with Williams and Taillon on the IL they really lost all depth with Kingham flaming out and Keller not doing well.
Their bullpen the injuries mounted early and the crap they throw at the wall now just flat out sucks.

They really lack power though, they are bottom third in NL on HR's, runs and RBI's and top three for left on base. Think another power bat would help as well.

I think the power is coming. Moran seems to have figured it out and Marte has heated up. I think both are capable of 30 HR. Not sure where Bell settles in but he could hit 40 homeruns. So there are 3 guys that should be looking at around 30+ HR. Not many teams have that type of power to go along with a high BA throughout the lineup.

The offense is really heating up. Just need to get the SP healthy and rolling. Never thought that Brault would be the most reliable SP for a month out of the season.

The offense could be incredibly solid especially if Polanco gets it going. If not, they still have Cabrera and Dickerson for now. I think this is a playoff caliber offense and the pitching has no where to go but up.

If Frazier and Polanco/Dickerson can heat up then this offense is able to compete with just about any other offense in baseball. It is time to be done with Kang. Not sure if Cervelli can come back and get it going to split time with Diaz.

Newman, Reynolds, Marte, Bell, Moran, Polanco/Dickerson/Cabrera, Frazier, Diaz

Everyone in the starting lineup should finish the year hitting .280+ with several with a legit shot of hitting .300+ The offense is deep.

Well then...I sure was wrong on not believing in Newman.

Newman, Bell and Reynolds have really been bright spots this year.

We are only 4.5 games out of first.... If we can get healthy..... and fine a couple more bullpen arms that can keep their era under 5.....

I live in Ohio and only get Reds and Indians games that arent on national tv on my package and I'm not gonna buy the total mlb unless we in first. Tomorrow vs the brewers is on fox and 2 of the 4 games vs the chubs next week are on espn next week too.

Lyles is coming off the DL tomorrow, hopefully Archer doesnt have to do more than miss a start before the all star break.

4 games out of first and our pitching might be getting healthy. I will be refocusing..

Glasnow on 60day day waiting for surgery and Meadows hitting .200 for the month of June... So that is looking better.

Just an fyi for out of market fans, huge month its brewers chubs cards with some reds tossed in till the trading deadline. I just hope we arent waiting for the dickerson/ vazquez trade(s)

There's no way they move Vazquez but there's a good chance that both Dickerson and Cabrera are gone, unless the team has a really great July.

They'll each have some value to someone and will not be with the Pirates next season.

The offense including the bench are really solid. Pitching will make or break the rest of the season. Hopefully Kela can get back soon and produce. Need 1-2 more bullpen arms. Worth taking a shot on Zach Duke? He was just released by the Reds. Really need a couple startes to step up. Williams and Archer really need to figure it out. Any starters realistic trade targets for the Pirates? Any JA Happs out there?

I think we should go for it too

We have the rotation and Vasquez and Crick for 3 +years. Bell for 3.5 and Polanco and Marte for about the same.

Lets not trade

Keller(can help now)
Ke'bryan Hayes(can help now, superstar potential)
Oneil Cruz(superstar potential)
and anyone else they think has superstar potential( I follow it but not real close)

Shove all the chips on the table

pick up a couple good, controllable relievers, with options :) , and maybe that Wilson Ramos from the Mets to get rid of Stallings. Depending on what the docs think about Cervilli and Tallion

Our 6th to 50th best prospects can all go bye bye imo.

Maybe, just maybe get Josh Bell to give the pirates an option year to buy out his arbitration years( we gonna have to pay here).

We can trade everyone worth anything in 2 years and burn it down, but we are to close to not go for it imho.

Plus, the Pirates tv contract is over after the season(this is the biggest reason I think the Pirates brass goes for it, barring a July collapse).

We sent alot out in the last trade deadline(but that isnt looking as bad as it was a month ago), lets keep the potential immediate help, and potential superstars like Cruz in the minors and try to open our 3 year window and win a WS, if not now when?

What a difference Rick Eckstein has made so far this year. This offense has looked absolutely great when everyone is healthy. Even the bench with guys like Melky, Osuna and Stallings are having good years.
