The thing is they would not be in the top 10 lottery next year if they did this and also would not be contenders. It’s either develop young guys or trade for a star...only way for the Cavs to build a contender. RW doesnt do that for them. I mean if Garland becomes a star they could get close but still RW just isnt that guy

You need to get out of championship or bust mode.
Its fun to win games.
Its fun to be in playoffs.

I was listening to the radio and they said that RW would have limited value and could be had for expiring contracts and a first rounder due to his age/contract. That he has positive value but only slight positive value.

Personally- I would value him at more than that, but thats what he said he has heard his value is on the market and that when he is traded it will not be for nearly as much as the average fan might expect. That Pistons and Heat are the two main destinations.

Either one could have him for expiring contracts and a pick or two or a young player.

If the Cavs offered their multitude of expiring contracts and Sexton they could easily get him supposedly.

This post is good Wiggy. Bad Wiggy posts are stupid and no one gives them any credence.

Not only that, but if you build a good playoff team and get some luck, you don't need the #1 best team to win a title. Toronto just showed that. They were the #1 team still standing and they got the trophy, but they didn't have to totally bottom out to get it.

That's fabulous, but we are talking about a pick in the teens who to this date has had a couple good games in Summer League.

Windler has played just as well and we could say the same about him as you did Herro, but I cannot imagine the Cavs would be in negotiations but back out because they insisted on Windler.

My thoughts on Herro has nothing to do with summer league. I don't even watch summer league.

I said nothing about summer league in my post.

And it is no secret that Herro can shoot the ball. Do 2 seconds of research on the kid or pull up some games from Kentucky last year.

This isn't some kid who just magically starting shooting the ball well in summer league practices....

so they were based on what he did for a stacked college team while shooting 35% from 3? Mostly playing against players far less talented than his teammates....and guys he'll face in the NBA?

Of course he's a good shooter. Never said otherwise. But if anyone thought he could be elite he does not stay on the board for Miami to pick him.

Doesn't mean he cannot exceed expectations, but no reason yet to think he will.

For your sake, I'd hope your FO does not overvalue their own players like fans often do.

35% is a solid 3 point shooting % you do know this right?

So all the NBA scouts who watched him not only at Kentucky but in pre draft workouts know absolutely nothing?

So you're saying he can't shoot? LMFAO

Find me the post where I said anything about him being elite.

It is clearly stated why I wouldn't want him included in a Russ trade.

Read better

It’s not only that, it’s a huge commitment. That is huge contract to take on. Paying a playing that much should make you championship contenders. Winning games is great but losing the 1st round everywhere is only fun for so long

I'm not sure I'd want to try to rank them.

I expect that Lebron and Kawhi will both be playing around 60-65 games due to load management. PG and AD may well miss a few as well.

So, both the Clippers and Lakers may actually be the best 2 teams in the West, but not finish with the best record.

And how do you rank the Warriors? I expect they'll look a lot different from October through February than they will after Klay gets back. By the time they get to the playoffs, they could be the best team if they're playing like they did pre-KD.

I think there are probably 4 legit title contenders in the Clips, Lakers, Warriors and Jazz. But the other 4 teams are capable of upsetting any of those 4 in a playoff series.
I did say "in no order" in my post, lol. I'm not comfortable in ranking them yet.

It also has nothing to do with overvaluing players.

Knowing that Russ/Jimmy alone can't bring you a title, you would like to keep 1 or 2 of your young core players instead and develop them

The heat or Rockets have nothing to lose by bring in RW. If it doesn't work it's not a big deal, considering what they are doing now isn't working. The only thing is his contract tho

The contract is a big deal. If they bring in RW and it doesn't work, they are well and truly fucked for years. Morey might be thinking Hail Mary and if it works he's a genius and if not, ok go ahead and fire me.

Sounds like fun. I would love to watch that team

It would literally be RW, CP3 and Harden...pretty much it if they gave up PJ, Capela and Gordon

RW and Harden will be putting up 45 shots a night and complain they didn't get enough looks
CP3 will only get 10 shots a night and start fights in the locker room

Hes now been shooting from the NBA 3 pt line.
Forget summer league win, loss results. Mean nothing.

As far as his play as an individual, hes legit.

Quick release, creating his own shots, unlimited range.
