Sports discussions sweets. You thinking we have a forum here if all we do is agree?

There's a difference between discussing sports and attempting to rip a guy for not rooting for a team or his age.

Also funny how every time someone calls you out for your crap (again four people already today and probably counting), you use the old "this place would be boring if we all agreed" bullshit.

I'm going to make this very very easy for you and assign your own facepalm gif:

giphy.gif

This is basically me walking away from your constant childish behavior.

Expect to see that gif a lot.

Little Traitor? You're a funny fella Skidmark.

A serious question. Why didn't you have an issue with me being a Celtics fan when LeBron was in Cleveland?

The Miami Heat sent veteran forward James Johnson home from training camp Tuesday for failing to meet the team's conditioning standards.

Johnson, 32, was deemed not physically ready to begin training camp practices on Monday, when the Heat convened for media day activities. Instead of joining his teammates during their first on-court action on Tuesday, he was told to leave the team hotel.

I don't think they'd be looking to spread the floor much, just pound it inside. It's not like that lineup is going to be putting up a lot of 3's or trying to drive to the hoop a lot.

That lineup, if it ever happens, would be used only in very specific situations and for short stints. Anything more wouldn't work.

Neither of those guys are post threats though.

If you are running your offense through McGee and Howard, you will have a very shitty offense.

And poor floor spacing would make it easy to double, somewhat negating the size. Lastly, you can’t post or run anything For AD in the painted area because defenses don’t have to guard McGee or Dwight outside of 12 feet. There would be a constant mass of large defenders in the paint, again negating the size advantage.

The Heat has a higher standard than any other team in the league.

Years ago they did the same thing to James Posey.

Riley sent fair warning, and clearly sent a message.

he is an assclown and just as i predicted- his stay in Miami ended in irrelevance and failure. His game is awful for today's NBA-

he cant pass, he cant shoot and he cant defend the pick and roll. He is selfish, cries about his shots and playing time.

He is awful for today's NBA.

its been my refrain from the beginning--- Whiteside- CANT SHOOT, CANT PASS and CANT GUARD THE PICK AND ROLL. On top of that he lashes out like a thug, cries about his playing time, and puts himself above his team.

just a terrible fit for today's nba. A selfish human being with an archaic game that just doesnt fit.

"Regardless of what people think of Whiteside, he is a great player when he puts it all together. He has the physical tools necessary — 7’7” wingspan — to be a great lob threat/put-back rebounder on offense and an elite rim protector on defense.

The Blazers’ defense in the playoffs was able to play successfully with Enes Kanter — labeled as a bad player on defense — at center with a separated shoulder. Now add in a Whiteside, who is a good defender and a perfect fit for the team’s system, which drops the center and lets him roam like a free safety down low. He should make the team a top-10 defense right away.

After the 2015-16 season, Whiteside was named to the NBA’s All-Defensive Second Team. He led the league with 3.7 blocks per game in 2015-16, led the league in rebounds with 14.1 per game in 2016-17, and was No. 1 in the NBA in 2018-19 in total rebound percentage at 25.9 percent.

On offense, he has proved plenty of times that he can dominate games. Against the San Antonio Spurs this past season, Whiteside scored 29 points, grabbed 20 rebounds and blocked nine shots in 32 minutes of action.

Whiteside is going to thrive in the pick-and-roll with the Blazers’ backcourt. He is going to be hard to stop when rolling to the rim while defenses worry about Lillard, McCollum and Rodney Hood attacking.

Portland is loaded up with 3-point shooters and Whiteside will be able to hang down low and grab all the long misses for more second-chance opportunities. He has a decent low-post game and should be able to score in one-on-one matchups."

@TurnUpTheHeat @Heatles84 Heat ranked 14th. Sounds about right IMO

NBA Power Rankings and breakout candidates for all 30 teams

Breakout candidate: Bam Adebayo
The 6-foot-10, 255-pound Adebayo put up 11.8 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 28 starts last season while averaging 28.2 minutes per game. With Hassan Whiteside shipped off to Portland, the starting center spot is Adebayo's to lose, with only Meyers Leonard as competition. There was a reason the Heat tried to keep Adebayo when the team was engaged in Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook discussions this offseason. -- Andrew Lopez

who becomes the better player?

Domantas Sabonis of the Pacers

or

Bam Adebayo of the Heat

Id narrowly say Sabonis, but pretty close.

this is what that article said about Sabonis:

Breakout candidate: Domantas Sabonis
After the Pacers lost star Victor Oladipo last season due to injury, Sabonis played a significant role in keeping the Pacers' playoff push afloat. He posted 10.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, and his performance off the bench put Sabonis in the conversation for Sixth Man of the Year. If his game evolves to include more 3-pointers, Sabonis has a real chance to become an All-Star. With Oladipo out for at least the beginning of the season, Sabonis' progress will be even more important to Indiana. -- Andrews

could add Jonathan Isaac and Wendell Carter Jr. to the question as well.

this is what they said about the Cavs potential break out player in that article--- interesting:

Breakout candidate: Collin Sexton
Entering his second NBA season, Sexton certainly is talking as if he is ready to be the Cavaliers' new leader. Cleveland bobbled after the departure of LeBron James and repeated injury blows to its remaining core, but Sexton was one of the few sunny sports in an otherwise dreary 2018-19 season. Sexton shot 40% from 3 and 83% from the free throw line, and he averaged 16.7 points per game, stats that put him alongside Larry Bird and Stephen Curry as the only rookies in league history to tally those numbers. -- Andrews

i like Smith Jr.-i think one day he will be a very good player in the league.

Knicks are actually buildign the right way for once instead of constantly trying to go for the quick fix. itll be itneresting to see how that goees in the long term there.

Barrett and Smith Jr. is a helluva interesting back court and start to their rebuild.
