Luke Harangody (born January 2, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for Divina Seguros Joventut of the Liga ACB. He completed his college career at the University of Notre Dame in 2010. He is the only men's player in the history of the Big East Conference to average 20 points and 10 rebounds per game in conference play for his career.[1] He was the 2008 Big East Player of the Year,[2] and was named to the second team on the 2008 Associated Press All-America team.[3] He is also the first Notre Dame men's player to be a three-time first-team All-Big East selection (and just 11th overall) (2008–2010), and the first men's player to lead the conference in both scoring and rebounding in consecutive seasons (2008 and 2009).[1]

Harangody considered entering the 2009 NBA draft, but withdrew his name to return to Notre Dame for his senior season.[4] Harangody ended his Notre Dame career as the only player to have over 2000 points and 1000 rebounds.

b-bal.ref.com has him listed as a PG 5 of his 7 years w/ the Cavs. But I'm sure you saw him play a lot more than I did. I left the state his rookie year.
Bigtime bust.

I'm sure about it. Here's an article from nbcsports.com (7-9-16) by nba sports boston report

Larry Bird on Kevin Durant: 'couldn't imagine going to the Lakers and playing w/ Magic'

Agree about Barkley. They were good friends up until however many years ago when Chuck was right in saying MJ had too many yes men in the organztion that wouldn't dare disagree w/ him about players.

Of course he couldn’t imagine it.

It also was not a realistic possibility in that era. Teams had a lot more control than they do now.

The old timers can talk about what they would or would not have done. And it sounds tough and all, but the reality is that we don’t know and I doubt they even know.

The situations surrounding free agency are so different they can’t even be compared.

lol well, he was a RATHER quick fade as a player, so I guess I can't blame you for not remembering...

Every team has missed in the draft. Some more than others. But it's happened to all of them. A recent example would Lonzo B. Ballin' at # 2. Which team did that again?

Well there you going pointing out stuff again. Just kidding. And I'm aware of how different the game was back then. I agree w/ what you said. It was more of a what if situation.

There's one guy who makes comments like these and I am confident he's FOS if they had today's CBA. I am nearly certain Barkley would have gone to the Bulls if they had the room to sign him.

Had you said His reps let the Cs know that would be hard to question.

But the idea you don't think that's the same as "AD contacted them directly"?

His reps speak/spoke for him.
That is certain.
So its one and the same.

Would add something else. MJ, Magic and Bird all won multiple titles. Suppose they could never get to the Finals?

You are such a clown.

At the time of the trade request, New Orleans was 22 -28. Only 1 team in the Western conference was behind them in the standings and Anthony Davis was already out with a 2 week injury that caused him to miss 2 weeks.

By the time he came back, the Pelicans were limiting his minutes while obviously in full tank mode. They were not trying to win games. So what exactly was Davis distracting teammates from?

You can speak in generalities all you want. But in this situation, the Pelicans were tanking and Davis did what the team asked him to do.

In other words, he honored his contract.

"This entire saga is a prolonged, smug jab at the intelligence of Pelicans fans, who are somehow supposed to believe what they’re watching is a normal, competitive athletic event.

It’s not.

“We sucked,” Davis said, after scoring three points on nine shots in one of the most lackluster efforts of his career. “Nobody was interested in playing. That’s what it looked like.”

No arguments there.

It’s gotten so bad even coach Alvin Gentry, who is the organization’s lone spokesman on the Davis situation said he won’t discuss it anymore."

Does that sound like a guy "honoring" his contract?

Seems reality says something else

Well shiiiiiit. If you're explaining something it's gotta be wrong.

I am always right, sorta like when you thought the Lakers weren't in position to win a championship, and then read the vegas odds like a DA...

And then tried to blame it on the weed, it's not the weed you are just dumb lol

You think one game makes your point? All players have bad games. Are they not honoring their contract in those games?

There are other differences too.

For one thing, many of the top players today have known each other since they were kids because of AAU, elite camps and social media. Even International opportunities like USA basketball were only for college kids before ‘92.

Players in the 70s, 80s and 90s were a lot less likely to have a personal relationship with their opponent and would therefor be less likely to want to team up.

I know Barkley and MJ were tight as were Magic and Isaiah, but a lot of those relationships just weren’t there like they are today.

Very true....and they can also get to know each other now on social media.
