None of this has anything to do with whether or not a player can request a trade.
If players don't want to be traded, they can try to negotiate a no trade clause.
I have no problem if a team wants to try to negotiate a no trade request clause.
Unless either or both of those are in the contract...
The team can trade the player and the player can request a trade. End of story.
it has the same effect as if I requested a trade from the Chicago Bulls. You are making his point.....requesting a trade is not something that is not allowed.
what i am saying is there is no kind of effect to asking for a trade- it holds no weight. And there is nothing in the CBA that says a player can’t ask to be traded.
Again it comes down to whether or not the team decides to oblige.
One of, if not THE best player in the world says he’s interested in signing with your team in free agency and you’re going to tell him to “hurry up or forget it”?
I can see why you’re no GM
You're right. I'm not a pussy I'm to much of a man to be a GM.

ITs the same as if the player said he is the jolly old king of England. Its bullshit.

Kind of my point.
Some are saying that a trade request = not honoring the contract.
BS.
A player can ask whenever he wants. But like you said, the request is meaningless.
The team can choose to grant the request or not. The team has the power to make that decision as long as the player is under contract. As long as the player continues to show up and do what the team asks after making the request, they are honoring their contract.

Tlance GTFO here!
You actually believe that? ROFL
Let me explain to you what the players who request a trade do...They pout, become a problem in the locker room, some even fake injuries and just plain sit out. Others force the team to get less assets back by picking only 1-2 teams. They are anything but "professional"...This ties back to the guaranteed contract. They really need to eliminate it. I know you are stupid, but this stupid?
Markkanen is pretty good as well and only getting better.
No way is AD, Lavine, and Markkanen only winning 38-40 games in the East
Agree.....like calling someone out for arguing while arguingThis is true and then he lashes out....which makes it ironic when he calls other people out for lashing out.
#Staystriggered
If you think that's true, why so much angst when it happens?it has the same effect as if I requested a trade from the Chicago Bulls.
Great......neither means he "contacted them directly" as you claimed. On their list Feb
Off their list June
If you know the sequence of the calendar, maybe you can follow along.
Just had the physical on the 23rd. Good to go but thanks for your concern.Nah.
Im trying to get him to have to double his blood pressure dose.
"No weight"? You are thinking the Cavs were 100% certain to trade Kyrie had he never made a request? Same with Kawhi and SA?what i am saying is there is no kind of effect to asking for a trade- it holds no weight.
ITs the same as if the player said he is the jolly old king of England. Its bullshit.
Mostly agree, though wouldn't call it meaningless. It is in the sense they don't have to honor it, but not in the sense the player might not have been moved if not for his request.Kind of my point.
