Nobody watches overseas basketball

When is the last time you caught a China league game? lol

If the best players in the world were in it, people would watch.

But that isn’t the point.

You claim the league and the owners have all the power. They don’t.

Nobody used the word ALL, but owners of businesses run them.

  1. Note: All players currently under contract in the NBA are required to have an "out" clause in their contract to return to the league after the lockout.

@tlance

Which means they can play as long as the lockout continues

One of those picks was anthony Bennett.....and the future pick(s) moved for Love were not #1. Neither of LAC is better than SGA. Forget about him? and wasn't Harrell a FA?

what should they have received per you? Be specific.
Shamet and Harrell are good but I mean is not even close - SGA is better

I'd also add that NBA players, even rank and file, are better equipped to handle a prolonged strike (as long as they've been a little bit smart with their money) than rank and file NFL players because they make more.

Imo, it would also be easier for a new professional basketball league to replace the NBA because the start up costs would be significantly less and they'd be able to bring NBA stars into the league immediately.
why would start up costs be less?

they have the vast majority of it.

Do you know how many fans are not big time baskebtall fans? That like going to games for the atmosphere and to go out and the entertainment etc.

Not to mention that there are also plenty of fans that are fans of the team- and not of any player- now that is probably the LEAST important in the NBA but it is still a significant factor.

Plus there are still plenty, id say most of the league- of players that are stupid with their money.

The "governors" (what a fucking joke) prob. have the least amount of leverage than any other league, but some of the other leagues have some things going for them that the NBA doesnt as well.

Plus how would that even work. Are the just going to roll up into NYC and buy a new stadium? How much would that land cost? Team planes, hotels, etc...There is a reason it hasn't happened.

yah a lot harder renting out an arena for 35 games than a stadium for 8 games- plus, as someone said- some of the guys would just go overseas and weaken the player pool for the "new league"- plus the NFL makes way more money, and baseball is also ahead of the NBA.

No man.

They would play overseas.

There is no alternative for NFL players. One of many reasons the NFLPA has far less power than in the NBA

There's a reason why Toxic Hell meal deals now come w/ rolls of toilet paper. That stuff's nasty.

But it tastes good. Name me one thing you have ever had from Taco bell that wasn't good? You can't, you lose, good day sir!

There's a reason why I haven't gone to Taco Bell in more than 25 years. You can gobble down that garbage all you want. I'll never eat at that place again.
