says the guy who thinks the loss of waiters and Dragic is just too much for any team to overcome?

He's been off the books a few years. You will be another year past next year and still don't look close to being an East contender.

Ok, cool. Let me know when Cleveland's back in the Finals. Guarantee it'll go past 6 years, bud.

Yet, you keep bringing up how Cleveland won a title by going with the tanking plan, which led to alluring Lebron to come back which we agree was a legacy move. So wouldn't that scenario meet the very definition of an outlier.
Fair point but has also made Philly relevant and OKC as well (though Durant leaving didn't help). I don't think a team must win a title to think the plan is the way to go. Only one team can win the title. Does this mean all other plans failed?

Yeah, the point I was trying to get at is that you can't simply plug in a talented player on an NFL roster and it bringing a great deal of success. Team fit, system, and coaching play a much more critical role; not saying talent isn't needed either. In the NBA, I could take Lebron and AD, move them over to Phoenix and they may possibly come out of the West. You can't do that in football.
agree, but as mentioned Manning was a bad analogy to use.....by you. an elite QB on his own can absolutely take a middling team to a division title. Probably the reason NFL teams almost never allow elite QBs to get away.

Anybody would like high draft picks. I just don't see the point in saying, well, we're not going to win a title. Let's try to lose 60 games this year.
Because for most teams getting high picks and clearing cap space/adding assets is the only chance they have. I don't believe a team like Miami NEEDS to do this but is clear in hindsight it would have worked better.

Ok. So then what's your overall point? It's clear from conversations with @bksballer89 , @TurnUpTheHeat and I that we're find in the direction our team goes. If the consumer is happy, what's the point in saying that we should be tanking?

I think the Heat are in good shape - Winslow and Bam are developing fine. We got Jimmy Butler and Herro looks like he's doing good so far. Will we win a title this year or next? More than likely not. But at least we have some things to look forward to. And as a fan I'm happy that I didn't have to sit through a horrid season.

Like I said, why would he announce he is going to a Canadian team on Independence Day. If he does do that...he should not be welcome back into America lol
