Actually yeah Crabbe can actually be an asset too off the bench. Better than James Johnson...another shooter for next year.

So...

James Johnson and the 13th - (could decline player option)

or

Allen Crabbe and the 17th

Could pair both those picks with the 25th to move up to around 10 maybe with one of the Hawks picks?

I think Portland would be more willing to give their 1st than Miami would anyway. Miami might want to just include a future 1st
Miami has issues including a future first since they dont own their 2021 pick--- its gone with no protections, so they cant trade their 2020 pick or 2021 pick.

Yeah the Nets option makes a lot more sense

That Crabbe contract was a horrible decision from the start. That's what you get when you try to snipe RFAs I guess.
I would be happy if the Cavs could get the 17th pick out of taking that contract.

If the 17th pick opens up 15M in cap space for the Nets in order to put into action some major offseason plans I hope they do it.

I think Smith's option has to be picked up/dclined by July 1, so that means the deal would have to go through before hand, so its not like there is a ton of time

this kind of plays into the Cavs favor as teams will have to act without fully knowing what they can do free agent wise.

I think the Heat will definitely approach the Cavs about Jr's contract, maybe the Mavs (though they really dont have much asset wise), maybe the Blazers....it will be interesting to see.

Yeah, the trade would likely happen during the draft (to ensure the Cavs get someone they like).

crazy think about Crabbe is that you could just re-ship him at the trade deadline as an expiring contract if you wanted to take back some long-term bad money and probably get another asset.

Sure, but at some point you want to stop wasting roster spots and cap space and chase FAs instead.

Welp Crabbe isnt' going to the Cavs...

Sources: Nets trade Crabbe to Hawks for Prince

The Brooklyn Nets are trading shooting guard Allen Crabbe and the No. 17 pick in the 2019 NBA draft and a protected first-round pick in 2020 to Atlanta for forward Taurean Prince and a 2021 second-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.

Hawks now have the 8th, 10th and 17th. I think they are working on something big.

My pistons fan friend said the hawks were working on a Blake griffin deal.

That would definitely be a surprise. I like Atlanta though I don't want them plagued!! lol

NBA season just extended to mid/late July especially with Zion in summer league.

Shit about to get wild

FIBA World Cup is in August too. So technically we're going to have basketball all the way to the start of football. Can't complain with that one

The 5 pick is nice having 3 picks may be better imo

Normally, I'd say no. But in this draft? Maybe. There's Zion on one tier. Then you've got Morant and Barrett. Then a pretty steep drop off after that. The player you get at 4 or 5 could easily be a bust as much as the player you get at 19. I could see the logic in getting multiple picks and playing the odds that at least one of them hits. Not saying I'd fully support this, but that thought process makes more sense this time around than it does in most years

I agree with this.

I think they may be really into either Hunter or Culver. Moving up guarantees them 1 of those players.

I want 3 picks in this draft. Not 1 outside the top 3.

And I’m 100% taking okeke.

Frankly I’m good with Danny trading down from 14 to get a future pick.

Okeke and bol are my top targets. If I get both of them I’m happy.
