Why does record matter?

Because even bad teams mostly score over 100+ point per game these days... a stat sheet gets filled up.

Doesn't necessarily mean the parts on that bad team are as good as they might appear.

Playing while losing in the regular season isn't the same thing at all as play in the post season... yet you juxtapose them side by side without even seeming to notice in that last post and again in this one.

Put Tatum on that team. He averaged 27 and 6 and shooting over 50% from the field. Point is, Tatum is not much more valuable as a trade chip than Ingram, his ceiling looks to be stunted. Ingram’s is looking better. Both going in opposite directions

Going in opposite directions? Sheesh.

Ingram averaged a couple more points per game while averaging a couple extra minutes per game on a team that you yourself argue needed his scoring more.

But search your feelings and answer this: let's say the Lakers get another star and win a title. LeBron would get blown by the media even more than now, we'd be back to hearing how he's GOAT over Jordan, etc. But your Lakers get another title.
