Yea, but now we are the hook for two more years of number ones. Doesn't this remind you of another trade we made that just killed us and we recently just got rid of after what four years into the future?

Yea chillipepper, we kept nearly everyone that was on the roster last year except Ball, Ingram, and Hart. That is a good thing but we have to re-sign McGee, Chandler, and Caruso because they are all FAs to longer than one-year deals or we will create the same mess we just left. If we sign one of the Walker/Kyrie/Butler or Russell quad of FAs and then pick-up Favors if Utah doesn't pick-up his option, the team will be pretty good on paper.

So basically, the Lakers will not be at this year's draft except to fill out the paperwork.

I think the next moves the Lakers will doing in the coming weeks will be several of the following players: Walker, Noel, Jordon, Butler, McGee, Favors, Russell.

Those other #1's are going to be in the 20-22 range assuming we get nice role players and another star in FA.....

Yep, we overpaid for AD. Ball, Ingram, Hart, and three number ones. Stupid. Well, at least they kept the last of the young core in Kuzma and some filler players mentioned like Bonga and Wagner. Now they can go after whomever to round out this year's addition. The Lakers should have just included Hart and let it go. But noooo. they got taken for two more years of first rounders.

Anthony Davis trade: Pelicans deal All-Star to Lakers in package including Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram, per report

They got hosed as usual.
3 first rounders and 3 young players.
6 for 1- WOW!

The picks are down the line. How is that getting hosed getting a young all-star center, giving up a role player and two injury prone pontentials???

lol

This a lot different than trading for Dwight who was a head case that didn't want to come and Nash.

AD is a better player than Dwight ever was and is only 26. He hasn't even hit his prime yet (which is scary).

Because of that, he is also a guy that the Lakers can "reload" around when Lebron is gone.

In short, by getting AD, the Lakers not only put themselves in position to win now, but also for the next 6-8 years.

Exactly. They traded a couple of guys with potential, but injury issues, a role player, the #4 pick in a draft with a sizable gap after the first 3, and a couple of guys who are in middle school right now...

for a top 5 player in the league who hasn't hit his prime yet, to add to another top 5 player and left themselves enough cap space to go after a top 15 player, or add a bunch of quality depth by signing 2 or 3 next tier guys and some solid vets.

If that's getting hosed...I hope it keeps happening.

Like most, you have failed to acknowledge that AD is oft-injured. So, the Lakers are going to be a powerhouse when he sits? Not that we were much of one with the players we let go so far save Russell, Zubac, Svi, Randle, and may B. Lopez.

Not to mention they have not only no depth, but no quality depth.

If they play Bron and AD 40+ every night, how long do you expect them to last before the injuries start occurring?

The key to this whole thing is what they do with the remaining cap space. If they strike out there, Bron and AD is not carrying this team by themselves.

And where is the 3 pt shooting coming from outside of Kuzma?

Toronto was worried Kawhi was injured often too and that certainly worked out

Well, I hope that is the case with the Lakers Shaqdaddy but what everyone fails to see with of the main reasons the Raptors won the title this year was because they had quality depth who played as a team along with Kawhi.

The Lakers continue to be focused on this nonsense that two or three so-called super-duper stars will get them a championship but have forgotten when we had the original big three twice, there was very good quality players backing-them-up and the whole thing worked because it was a team effort.

If there is any truth to the rumors, Kawhi is headed to the Lakers where he wants to play dating back to his days in San Antonio. He is declining the player option on his Raptors contract.

Well, that and GS had no Durant for the series basically and Thompson got injured when GS was leading game 6.

The two years prior to this past season, Davis played 75 of 82 games both times. He could have played more this season but he didn't want to risk getting hurt and ruining his chance of a trade and the Pelicans didn't want to play him either. His injury was nothing more than a mild sprain. He's fine.

If you're gonna say he's injury prone, you might as well say the same thing about Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball. The last two years Ingram played 59 of 82 and 52 of 82 games while Lonzo Ball played 52 of 82 games and 47 of 82 games. So they gave up two injury prone guys that might not ever make an all star team for an "injury prone" guy that's a legit Top 5 NBA talent who is just entering his prime at 26 years old.

AD had some injuries earlier in his career. The 2 seasons prior to this one he played in 75 games each. He would have played in more last year, but the Pels were trying to not to play him after all of the crap that happened at the deadline. The league literally had to force them to play him in the games that he did play after the all star break.

Additionally, part of the point of having 2+ star players is so that you still have one on the floor when the other is resting or hurt.

On your last sentence, are you really suggesting that this team would somehow be a powerhouse if they had kept the guys you mentioned?
