8 days in and I have no idea who our coach is going to be. Seems like there's a new rumor every day.

VT replacement still seems to be Wojo but there's a contingent of "sources" that claim Gregg Marshall is a serious candidate but I'm not sure I buy it.

I haven't seen any legitament sources who've mentioned anything about Marshall. Posters on TKP don't know dick, and that's the only place I've seen his name - and that is just saying 'he went to HS in Roanoke'

Buzz is looking for resources. He left Marquette partly bc he knew football revenues would trickle to basketball, and is now moving to a place which can give him even more. He would get in arguments with our AD over private jet usage bc we didn't give him unlimited use of a pj, and burned through his milage allotment extremely quickly. He won't have those same restrictions at A&M

I think the PTB aka the BOT and HY are swinging for the fences on this one. We're going to make Chris Beard say no to $6 million. Notice, only one of our secondary targets signed their contract extention.

There was one guy on there that actually had legit sources, the one who actually had UCLA making an offer to Cal like a week before any major outlet reported it. His numbers weren't exact but they were reasonably close enough to where you know he was actually talking to someone who knew something. But he's like the only guy there that looks like he has real sources, and its not even VT related, lol.

For Vandy or in general? I think Stack could be a good coach. He's had some good success in the G-League and was probably gonna start getting looks for NBA jobs.

Well that's not always the worst thing. Chris Mullen seems to be doing ok at St. Johns. Penny Hardaway looks like he'll have Memphis turned around soon

They're probably waiting until after this weekend to go after Pearl or Beard if and when they lose.

Not to mention that NBA stars have made mediocre coaches at best, and Ewing and Mullin have done nothing to disprove that ... yet.

Played golf yesterday with one of our local Red Fader donors. He said Tech has been contacting several of their BMDs about paying Beard "Power 5 football type money" in order to keep him. Not sure if Tech has enough of those BMD types to make it happen...at least as compared to Texas/A&M BMDs.. They do have a few BMDs that are BIG BMDs, but not a lot of 'em.

It absolutely contributed to why he left VT. There are obvious reasons why he doesn't get along with ADs he works with. Saying he left Marquette bc of new AD and Pres is easy.

Yeah it may have been why he left VT but it's not why he left Marquette. You are going to have to go full blue blood to find a better revenue. Marquette has some of the best resources in the country with a massive budget. Plus, being basketball only gives you a better revenue opportunity and you don't need to pray for football leftovers.

Buzz was always going to a Texas school. He left Marquette early because of two reasons
1. Massive disagreements with administration
2. He didn't think the new BE would last

Buzz is an amazing coach but as you probably know now, hes a complete phony and fuck of a person. His act grew tiresome, the issues with players grew tiresome. Once his guys all graduated he bolted at the first sign of trouble.

There was a lot that went on good and bad during Buzz tenure. Revenue was never a concern.
