Good game. Looks like getting an actual point guard was just what the doctor ordered for the Suns.

Ayton definitely would have helped you guys. Between, AD, Javale and Dwight, every time Baynes turned around he was having to deal with a different 7 footer.

At one point, late in the game, the Lakers had outscored the Suns 70-46 in the paint. Ayton would have helped close that gap.

Sure, but who's losing minutes to get Ayton in there? Baynes probably loses a chunk of minutes, and those 3s were important last night. It will be interesting to see who loses out in that front court rotation.

in order to get that Memphis pick I would give up Thompson, and give them some other shit too to be honest. Whatever they would want really.

That Memphis pick could be solid gold.

Still gotta make up that salary though. TT would be perfect for the C's but just nobody to throw back in the deal. Kanter and Theis are both only $10M combined and they still would need depth. They would be the perfect trade partner bc of their needs and their assets but...doesn't fit the mold.

Dunno.

Crowder is being a good soldier and says he wants to stay.

But, if he's not in their future plans, they might be willing to do him a Tyson Chandler solid.

As for Iggy, he's yours if he's on the Grizz roster after the deadline.

But, according to Windbag, Denver and Dallas are lurking on the trade front.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, both the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets have the ammunition to make a trade for Iggy. Seeing how both find themselves in the hunt for the playoffs (or in the Nuggets’ case a title), it would make sense to go after a veteran wing defender with heaps of championship experience. Both teams are fairly young and could use all the leadership they can get.

The Lakers simply don’t have the resources or ability to make a reasonable trade for Iguodala and seem to be sitting this out, hoping that no team is willing to trade for a 35-year-old rental on a $17 million deal. Should Iguodala slip through the cracks and remain on the Grizzlies until the trade deadline, it would make no sense for Memphis to hang onto him. At this point, it would be much more likely for the Grizzlies to simply waive him and the Lakers to scoop him up.

However, the universal thought that the Lakers will almost certainly land Iguodala in the event of a buyout could impact those negotiations.

I can't imagine anyone investing $17M in assets for Iggy at his age without there being a bad contract in there somewhere, which means a pick probably has to come into play. Lakers don't have contracts that match up that they would be willing to move. Crowder is much easier to move (and I think would be an ideal backup for Lebron, even if that didn't work with the Cavs), but unless the Grizz want KCP (and he wants them) or the Grizz want two cheaper rotational players, there will be better offers elsewhere.

Do you remember the start of Sexton's rookie year?

People were prematurely calling that kid a bust.

He was awful.

Then, he went supernova.

So, I'm not really concerned about Garland right now when you remember that he is coming off a collegiate injury.

He only played 5 games before he went down.

As for Sexton, it's not about being better than the guys listed.

It's about the other guy on the roster being better than him, long-term.

Kyrie was better than Rozier.

Curry was always a better shooter than Monta and better suited for the Dubs core..

Westbrook was better than Reggie Jackson.

My whole argument goes to Shit if my belief in Garland is unfounded.

If he is who I think he can be, somebody will get dealt in a few Seasons.

I really like Garland too, and would've liked the Lakers drafting him had that pick not been involved in the AD trade. His shooting ability is the big advantage over Sexton IMO. I think the Cavs could build around Garland easier than Sexton.

I really think Sexton will continue to improve and be at worse a borderline all star player so hope you and mecca are right about Garland.

If anything, I'd like to see Garland shoot more, especially from deep.
