Not sure they'd get anything done, but really seems like the Cs are only team with players/assets they could offer the Cavs might want.....and not sure Cs would part with guys the Cavs would want.

The C's need bigs. I think that is realistic, not sure what players the Cavs would take back but the C's have picks

Yeah, it would be interesting to see Clarkson back with the Lakers. But, agree with you, I don't think they have anything to trade that the Cavs would want.

I've said before that I would love TT on the Lakers, but with how Javale and Dwight have been playing, they don't really need another big. But even if they needed one, we're back to not having anything the Cavs would want.

Besides, from what's being said, it sounds like Iggy getting bought out and going to the Lakers is almost a foregone conclusion (which I probably just jinxed lol).
I wouldn't be surprised if you get Iggy.

But, there could be a team that undercuts you, like the Wiz did with Ariza.

I read something about the Nugz.

They have players that would probably appeal to the Griz.

Another guy you should be interested in is Crowder.

I could see both he and Iggy getting dealt.

As for Clarkson, the Lakers will give him Cook, Daniel and KCP's money next Summer.

Yeah, I don't see the C's giving you a first or young players.

We are talking about Ainge here.

Healthy Kanter, Williams and Theis aren't world beaters.

But, they aren't useless either.

How about Embiid and TT going 5-8 from 3 and everyone else 8-51? Go figure.

they celtics DO have a memphis pick with some mediocre protections.......a pick we actually traded them at one point

That might get the job done come to think of it.

If they want to win the East, those 3 might be useless in that regard.

in order to get that Memphis pick I would give up Thompson, and give them some other shit too to be honest. Whatever they would want really.

That Memphis pick could be solid gold.

I understood, just don't agree. I think Sexton is better than you think he is. But I hope you are right that Garland is better than sexton as it would be a nice "problem" to have.

Really no reason to think he cannot sustain his 3 point shooting as the guy is an extremely hard worker.
Early on, it's a fantastic problem to have.

But, come contract time, which is obviously a ways away, you could find yourself in a Reggie Jackson, Terry Rozier situation.

I want even bother discussing pg U in Phoenix with Bledsoe, Dragic and Thomas.

Cavs GM is too smart for that.

Sadly, teams like the Knicks aren't.

* they have 8 Guys who sorta play the same position *

Again: I like Sexton.

I just honestly believe Garland will be better and that Porter will be a monster at SG in a few years.

Only disagreement is I believe it's different as sexton is much better than Rozier. Might be better (but not much better) than the others you mentioned, as well. And, while early, so far Garland has not shown them he will be the better player.....I'd like to see him take more shots, especially 3s.

Not sure how easy that would be to pry away after they were burnt in the Kyrie deal. I get TT not a nutjob like him but to balance it Kyrie is a much better talent.

Yeah. I'm not sure if the holdup is that the Griz have to wait a certain amount of time to buy him out, or if they're just waiting to see how the season goes and what other teams offer for him. Can't blame them for trying to get something for him rather than just buy him out.

Another guy you should be interested in is Crowder.

Crowder would be a good pickup. He's only 29 too. I don't see Memphis buying him out and the Lakers have nothing to really trade for him.

Iggy's 35, so I could see there not being enough interest in him to get them much in the way of an asset.

As for Clarkson, the Lakers will give him Cook, Daniel and KCP's money next Summer.

Wouldn't mind that at all.

Thompson isn't the difference between the 76ers, Bucks and the Celtics....imo

With his salary, they'd have to give you Hayward, you'd have to add Clarkson or they'd have to give you Smart.

Don't see it happening.

If they want to win the East, those 3 might be useless in that regard.

See above.

Another factor: Klutch.

Clarkson and Thompson are clients.

After the Davis whiff, don't see the Celtics going down that road again and giving up a valuable pick for a potential rental.

Dunno.

Crowder is being a good soldier and says he wants to stay.

But, if he's not in their future plans, they might be willing to do him a Tyson Chandler solid.

As for Iggy, he's yours if he's on the Grizz roster after the deadline.

But, according to Windbag, Denver and Dallas are lurking on the trade front.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, both the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets have the ammunition to make a trade for Iggy. Seeing how both find themselves in the hunt for the playoffs (or in the Nuggets’ case a title), it would make sense to go after a veteran wing defender with heaps of championship experience. Both teams are fairly young and could use all the leadership they can get.

The Lakers simply don’t have the resources or ability to make a reasonable trade for Iguodala and seem to be sitting this out, hoping that no team is willing to trade for a 35-year-old rental on a $17 million deal. Should Iguodala slip through the cracks and remain on the Grizzlies until the trade deadline, it would make no sense for Memphis to hang onto him. At this point, it would be much more likely for the Grizzlies to simply waive him and the Lakers to scoop him up.

However, the universal thought that the Lakers will almost certainly land Iguodala in the event of a buyout could impact those negotiations.

Yeah, no doubt the Nugs and Mavs could trade for him. I'd think they'd want to go after a younger guy like Crowder though.

But, like your post says, those are young teams that could use Iggy's title experience. Plus, he can still contribute in a 15-20 minutes a night role. So maybe they value that experience more. Especially the Nugs who could actually challenge both the Lakers and Clippers for the West.

Definitely going to be interesting to see how it all plays out. Guess I'll have to start hoping the Mavs and Nuggets start losing more. lol

All things considered, I think I'd rather have Crowder because of his age. Either way, the Lakers are going to have to add someone or they aren't taking 4 of 7 from a healthy Clippers (even if Playoff P shows up lol).

Do you remember the start of Sexton's rookie year?

People were prematurely calling that kid a bust.

He was awful.

Then, he went supernova.

So, I'm not really concerned about Garland right now when you remember that he is coming off a collegiate injury.

He only played 5 games before he went down.

As for Sexton, it's not about being better than the guys listed.

It's about the other guy on the roster being better than him, long-term.

Kyrie was better than Rozier.

Curry was always a better shooter than Monta and better suited for the Dubs core..

Westbrook was better than Reggie Jackson.

My whole argument goes to Shit if my belief in Garland is unfounded.

If he is who I think he can be, somebody will get dealt in a few Seasons.
