Twins signed RHP Homer Bailey to a one-year, $7 million contract.
The Twins aimed high with offseason targets for their rotation, but ended up keeping both Jake Odorizzi and Michael Pineda while adding Bailey and some potential upside with a rehabbing Rich Hill. Of course, there's still a chance they could make a significant trade before Opening Day or even sign Josh Donaldson to play third base. But as of now, their offseason has been underwhelming. Bailey, 33, posted a 4.57 ERA and 149/53 K/BB ratio over 163 1/3 innings between the Royals and Athletics this past season.

Twins signed LHP Rich Hill to a one-year contract.
Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the deal carries a $3 million guarantee, with a bunch of incentives. The Twins also announced the signing of Homer Bailey on Tuesday as they attempt to add some depth and upside to their rotation. They are going to have be patient on Hill, who is expected to miss the start of the 2020 season after undergoing "primary and revision surgery" on his left elbow in October, but there's some nice upside if he comes back close to his previous form. Hill turns 40 in March and posted a 2.45 ERA and 72/18 K/BB ratio over 58 2/3 innings with the Dodgers in 2019.

Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Nationals are finalizing a two-year deal with free agent reliever Daniel Hudson.
Jon Heyman of MLB Network says the deal is for a total of $11 million with another million possible in incentives. Hudson will return to Washington after being a stabilizing force in the bullpen for the World Series champion Nationals. It was rumored that the club was moving on from Hudson after signing Will Harris, but those rumors were obviously unfounded. He posted a 1.44 ERA with the club after a trade from Toronto, and he saved six games in his 24 appearances. The 32-year-old right-hander should again pitch in a high-leverage role with the Nationals, and could see save opportunities for one of the better clubs in the National League.

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Orioles have agreed to a one-year deal with free agent shortstop Jose Iglesias.
Feinsand also reports that the deal will have a 2021 mutual option that could make the contract two years for $6 million. A strong defender up the middle, the 30-year-old spent last year with the Reds, and he hit .288/.317/.407 with with 11 homers and 59 RBI in 146 games. Iglesias should be the everyday shortstop for Baltimore, and he could hit at or near the top of the lineup for the rebuilding Orioles in 2020.

Marlins signed RHP Ryan Cook to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Cook will be paid a $750,000 salary if makes the major league roster in Miami, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today. There is also another $250,000 available in performance-based incentives. The 32-year-old right-hander pitched in Japan in 2019 after an ugly showing in 2018 with the Mariners. He was once a reliable late-inning reliever for the Athletics.

Top, young pitching prospect heading to Cards. Would have been great fit with M's...rebuild.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the deal involving top left-handed pitching prospect Matthew Liberatore heading to the Cardinals will involve six pieces.

Pirates signed OF Guillermo Heredia to a one-year, $1 million contract.
Heredia comes to the Pirates after hitting .225/.306/.363 with five homers and two steals over 89 games for the Rays in 2019. The 28-year-old is capable of playing all three outfield spots, and he should be a solid fourth outfielder for Pittsburgh.

Robert Murray, formerly of The Athletic, reports that the Brewers are in agreement with free agent first baseman Logan Morrison on a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Morrison spent the end of last season in the Phillies' organization and posted a weak .200 batting average and .663 OPS in limited action at the MLB level. Since his breakout 38-homer season with Tampa Bay in 2017, the 32-year-old has struggled to hit for average or power, and is likely just a bench or depth bat for the Brewers in 2020.

Yankees signed C Chris Iannetta to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
WFAN's Sweeny Murti was first to report that a deal was close and now Jon Heyman of MLB Network says it has been completed. Iannetta got released by the Rockies last August and failed to latch on with a new team for the stretch run, but he'll have the opportunity to compete for the backup job behind Gary Sanchez in Yankees camp this spring. Iannetta, a career .230/.345/.406 hitter, turns 37 years old in April.

Diamondbacks signed RHP Hector Rondon to a one-year, $3 million contract with a $4 million club option for 2021.
Rondon will get paid $2.5 million in 2020 and there is a $500,000 buyout on the option for 2021, thus the $3 million guarantee. The option can jump from $4 million to $5 million if the right-hander reaches certain escalators this year. Rondon, 31, posted a decent 3.71 ERA with 48 strikeouts across 60 2/3 innings last season for the Astros and should be a nice addition to the Diamondbacks' setup corps. He might even see some save opportunities if Archie Bradley falters in that role.

God damn, I’m on an island for sure but I love Heredia and still firmly believe he is a MLB starter and is a 4 tool player. Granted the BA is a crucial part of the 5 tools.
