Probably desperately clearing room for Cole or Rendon

Exactly which was my point with Myers trade. That should net some team some really top prospects to take on his salary more so than the Angels deal.

Robert Murray, previously of The Athletic, reports that free agent Jose Peraza is in agreement on a deal with the Red Sox.
Jon Heyman of MLB Network says it will be a one-year contract worth close to $3 million plus incentives. Peraza was non-tendered by the Reds earlier this month after posting an underwhelming .239/.285/.346 batting line with six home runs and seven stolen bases over 141 games in 2019. The versatile 25-year-old will probably operate as a sort of super-utilityman for Boston next season.

You it is an off, off winter for M's when there are more Japanese players available than ever and you don't even hear one bit of noise about them talking to one.

I think we may need to change the name to the Seattle Bears since we are hibernating every winter now.

Well I could see this two ways. Maybe ownership put the brakes on Jerry signing Japanese players after he burned the ownership with Kukuchi.

But on the same note it’s weird Japanese players aren’t linked to the Mariners even if the Mariners aren’t interested.

Wade Miley:

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Reds have agreed to terms with Wade Miley on a two-year, $14 million contract with a $10 million club option for 2022.

Miley carried a 3.06 ERA into the final month of the 2019 season before falling apart in September (16.68 ERA). Obviously, the Reds are betting on getting more of the first version of the left-hander, and Miley will be reunited with former pitching coach Derek Johnson. It's hard to see much fantasy potential in Miley for 2020 since he doesn't miss many bats and can have home run issues at times.
