Can you put some numbers up for both players and both a bridge deal and long term deals that you think may happen.

The Evolving Wild projections for Provorov (listing the top 4 percentages, bold is the highest percentage chance according to EW)
2 x 4.5M
5 x 6M
6 x 6.6M
7 x 6.2M

And for Konecny
2 x 3.3M
3 x 4M
6 x 5.9M
7 x 5.6M

I think they're low for Provorov. I think a bridge is probably like 2x5.5, long term is closer to 7x7-7.5. Konecny, I think they're more in the ballpark.

I read somewhere that Provy, Werenski and Troube are waiting for their market to be set.

I think 2 year is a low ball offer for TK. If im our team i go for the 6 years at 5.9 because he does a lot more for this team than just put up 25 goals 50 points. He is a spark plug, he hits and blocks shots, he mixes it up. He has pretty much the same offensive stats as big Puss and does sooooo much more for this team. If anyone deserves to get paid its TK

I'd love to get Konecny at 6x6. I think that's a smart investment and agree with your assessment of his value. But I don't think they'll have enough cap space this season to afford a 6x6 for Konecny and whatever Provorov gets.

The bridge deal at 2x3.3 would be attractive to Konecny if he thinks he can be a 30+ goal guy. When those 2 years are up, if he proves he's a 30+ goal guy, he could be making 7-8M on a long term deal instead of 6M if he signed it now.

IMO i wouldn't take the bridge deal because he could get hurt or not be a 30 goal guy and then hes screwed after the 2 year contract in which he wouldnt make more than 4 million per. At least you know for sure you will be making 6 million per year for 6 years guaranteed and on the next contract you get paid the 11 million per if you do score thirty a year because he will only be 28

Agreed his time is now....or possibly never! Although remember big guys usually take longer. Look at Chara and he's still playing well.
I think we really need his toughness this season since we lost Gudas. Even if he is a 6 or 7 he should have a role of a protector.

Flyers signed Chris Stewart to a PTO today. He'll get a shot to prove he's got something left in camp. I doubt it personally, but he adds another body to compete with the kids for that 3rd line opening. Hopefully it motivates them even further.

If TK signs a two year deal our free agents going into that summer would be as follows:

Hart
TK
Sanheim
Morin
Nisky
Raffl
Laughton

True. And that would be quite the offseason to juggle. But when you really break it down, Hart, TK, and Sanheim look to be the only truly major free agents there, and all 3 would still be RFA. Who knows what Morin will be at that point, but looking at who's in front of him, at best he's a solid #5 that generates very few points. I don't think he'll break the bank. Niskanen will be 34 and we'll probably be ready to see his cap hit come off the books. I like Raffl and Laughton, but they're likely 4th liners and fairly easily replaceable. Maybe you re-sign them, maybe you don't, but I don't think they're a game changer either way.

I'd still prefer to get TK locked up at a longer term, but I wouldn't be upset if it's a reasonable bridge deal. It seems that's the more likely path anyway, given the cap space they have with Provy still to sign as well. I think the Flyers are more interested in a long term deal for Provorov than they are for Konecny. Which I'm on board with. Getting your #1 dman locked up long term on his 2nd contract likely results in a steal at one of the most important positions. Assuming Provorov bounces back and is who we hope he is. But I'd take the gamble.

Another Minnesota guy.
