Bobby Mac tweeting deal is done now. 6 years and he’s saying just under 7.

I like that.

6x6.75 according to Friedman. I like that deal.

Beat me to it. I think long term under $7 million per is great for the team. I am still thinking TK at 3/$15 million will happen soon.

I don’t really understand the delay with Konecny. Even if the team/player value him differently, it can’t be that big of a gap. He’s very clearly not a 7-8-9 mil guy and very clearly not a 1-2-3 mil guy.

I agree though, I think he signs soon. Before the weekend is out I expect. Some tweeting it could come as soon as tomorrow morning.

If JVR and Hayes are 7 million dollar players TK certainly is one also.

Point, Marner, Rantanen, Tkachuk, Boeser, Connor and Laine are all unsigned RFAs. They all seem to be waiting for the first domino to fall.

I love TK, but he's not on their level right? IMO he's not. So far he's a 25 goal scorer, 50 point guy. And he's not bringing defensive or PK prowess to the table either.

Point - probably 40g, 80+ point guy
Marner - 90 pt guy
Rantanen - 30g, 80+ point guy
Tkachuk - 30g, 70 point guy
Boeser - 25/65 guy, so maybe he's more in range. But he hasn't played a full season yet due to injury
Connor - 35g / 65pt guy
Laine - 40g/60pt guy

Maybe I'm under-rating him, but IMO he's a tier below the big RFA forwards. Those guys are line drivers / difference makers. TK so far has been a great wingman (no pun intended) to elite players in Giroux/Couturier.

I like to defend JvR, but I would take TK over him any day. However, JvR is a very proven 30 goal player (28+ goal pace 7 years in a row) and he was a UFA. The UFA bloats the deal. If TK was UFA, I could see him getting close to 7M. But as an RFA he doesn't have that leverage.

Hayes has the same UFA bloat in his contract, but he also brings more than just offense. He can produce a similar amount of offense as TK, but he also brings sound defense and PK-ing. Plus he plays C which drives up his value.

SERIOUSLY ?!??! Patrick has upper body injury ?

Tweets saying no surgery required. Week to week and tough to say if he'll be ready to start the season.

What kind of upper body injury doesn't require surgery and takes 3.5-4 weeks to heal? Pulled muscles maybe?

I say he's ready to start the season. :2cents::thumb:

The last two years only two players have more even strength goals than TK. He is 7th in points in his draft class.

TK is more valuable to this team than either one of those players and its bringing in players making that much money is why we are short changing our own home grown players. What are we going to do next year when Patrick Lindblom and Myers are due money or the year after when Sanheim and Hart have to get paid
