well obviously Love is worth a helluva lot more signed up for the longterm than he was on a 1 year deal.

There is going to be an inevitable reshuffling of the deck this year after LeBron left---- but after going to 4 straight Finals and winning a championship that is to be expected.

AT THE VERY LEAST this signing keeps an All Star level talent on the Cleveland roster that they can either build around, or eventually trade.

You can get a lot more for him signed up as he is than you could with him looking at being a free agent in a few months that is for sure--- especially at 30M a year---- that....while is expensive, is not going to look too bad when we see what guys like Kemba/Cousins etc. will get this upcoming offseason.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

You don't think an offense catered to him will allow him to get 25 a game? Last time he was the man on a team he was averaging 26.1 and 12.5. After Kevin Love, who's the Cavs next best player? It'll be a game by game thing to see who that will be. Love's usage should go through the roof and it'll be the first time in years he'll be able to fully utilize his skill set.

Kevin Love gonna average 25 and 12 next year. Not sure what that means for the team, but we'll see Minnesota Kevin Love type numbers next year.
hey...you can do worse in the year after LeBron leaves to have a core of Love, Sexton, Osman, Nance Jr.,

itll be funny when the Lakers strike out in free agency next summer to see them come begging to the Cavs for a trade. lol.

LeBron goes to Miami: Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, multiple titles, 4 straight Finals appearances- loaded team.

LeBron goes back to Cleveland: Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, tons of hype, a title, 4 straight Finals appearances, greatest comeback in the history of the NBA

LeBron goes to LA: Some murals get vandalized- and Rajon Rondo, Michael Beasley, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, KCP- the all shithead team that will be lucky to get out of the first round. lol

whether they keep him, and he is roughly, after the cap goes up a little bit, about a 1/4 of their payroll (roughly, i know its a lil more than that), or whether his value climbs and they deal him- its a good deal.

Its the type of deal I was not sure he would take, but I am glad he is comfortable and likes playing here and will be able to show off the full range of his talents this year. I will also guarantee you that the loyalty he showed by signing this extension will be paid back in full by the fans. He will become a fan-favorite on a level he has not reached before.

Sure, but age and injuries aren't likely to let him play a full season (59 and 60 games the last 2 seasons) and who is going to draw defense away from him?

That's the thing though. It actually benefits the Cavs to do worse. For the length and money on his deal now, Kevin Love just became a hell of a lot harder to trade. And you've also just put a hard ceiling on yourself of just how good you can be. Moves like this is what leads to teams locking themselves into years of competing for the 7th seed. From a team perspective, you were FAR FAR FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR better off not offering Love an extension, running the offense through him this season to goose up his numbers, and trade him. Now you've got an anchor around your waist dragging you down for any further roster improvement for foreseeable future.

Great move for Love though. Got that bag before people realize he's not worth it.

EDIT: I'm going to put it this way. You just signed a Melo contract. You paid a premium price on past accomplishments when its clear he's going to decline. The final years of that deal are gonna be rough and will cost you to offload it.

Again, I'm not saying it's inherently valuable to the team, but he can still accomplish this nonetheless. If the Cavs have one thing, it's still perimeter shooting (barring an unforeseen trade).

4 years and 120 million......the Cavs are looking at chasing a 7-8 seed in the EC.

So much for rebuilding.

I totally disagree. I believe that Love's value just was increased astronomically. Its no coincidence the Spurs wanted an all star claiber player like DeRozan with 3 years left on his deal.

When you see what players like Kemba Walker etc. will be getting this upcoming summer you will see.

What do the Lakers have to do with the dumpster fire that is the cavs?

Is this the only way you know how to argue or are you really this pathetic?

psh no way.

You guys finished a full 6 games ahead of the Heat last year. You lost Lebron, the best player in the world, you haven't gotten any better on offense and your defense will still be atrocious. You think Lebron only made you 6 games better than the Heat?
