it's going to be midnight before my gators get to play.. freaking 3 hour rain delay... Why oh why do they not start these games at 11am central? Its summer and pop up showers are the norm there.. makes no damn sense to me!:gaah:

That is not true. Actually "pop up showers are the norm" in Florida.

Not to say we don't get "pop up" showers and t-storms on occasion that can delay a game for an hour or so. However, the weather across the Plains is a lot more complex than that.

These showers and thunderstorms are associated with a 'stationary' frontal boundary. A 'cold front'. Cold air meeting juiced warm air from the Gulf. It's the blue line on this surface map. The showers and t-storms fire along the frontal boundary and train. Hence the prolonged delays.

They are only one game behind right now. This stationary frontal boundary is expected to stay in place through tomorrow and Thursday.

They'll get this postponed North Carolina/Miss St. winners bracket game in no problems and be caught up. However, the later portion of the Texas/Florida elimination game is in jeopardy for weather delay as the atmosphere juices itself back up throughout out the day.

The Arkansas/Texas Tech winners bracket game tonight is in the most jeopardy. If it gets postponed, there could be problems getting caught up tomorrow and Thursday.

Looks like they're going to be playing catch up all week long.

Good observation from afar. They'll actually be caught up after this North Carolina/Miss St winners bracket game. Unfortunately it looks like they'll slip again.

If the Arkansas/Texas Tech game tonight gets postponed, I could see them falling 2-3 games behind by Thursday.

We are now caught up to the regular schedule.

Texas/Florida elimination game starts at 3:38 pm (ET).

The frontal boundary is off to the southeast for now. Should get this game in without delay, as long as it doesn't go extra innings.

I kinda hope Florida has a big inning just to see Roger Clemens possibly have a temper meltdown in the booth.

Storms beginning to fire along the frontal boundary.

Florida 5 - 0 over Texas in the 7th.

Not looking like extra innings at the moment.

Roger the Roider was in the booth for the Texas/Florida game? Glad I missed that. Did he share any secrets on how to take steroids?

Should have given his son a little more than usual and would’ve had that Homerun in the 9th

The SEC is gunning for its 12th CWS title and/or 10th runner-up finish since 1990. They have captured both slots 3 times in that span and have a good chance to do it again this year.
