Not that you'd want anyone to have this disease, but sucks as he seems like such a great kid.
Lifelong battle.

With that particular disease, tumors can develop anywhere in his body.

Horrible that it happened in his brain stem.

Just so many things that can go wrong with that type of surgery.

Not a crazy assertion, but I'd say it's debatable. I'm sure being 2-3 inches shorter hurts Love in the rim protection area. Let's not forget Love is a PF, not a center. And despite the size difference, he's a far better rebounder.

Love is also a couple points higher in PER for career and 5+ points higher last season. Even more difference this season but unfair as Love has only played 4 games.

Love is clearly a better overall player than Lopez.

But, if I have to choose between 30 year old Lopez at 1 year for 3.3 million

And 30 year old Love for $120 million over the next 4 years after this....

That is a no brainer man.

His game could definitely last him at least another five years but yes he has been prone to injury

I think he missed more games the two years prior than he would have had the Cavs thought they absolutely needed him in the regular season.
Yeah, and there is no benefit to trying to bring him back now, unless they wanted to trade him by the deadline.

I bet LA would say otherwise. Love is exactly what that team needs. would you be saying this if he was playing and doing so like he was before he was "hurt". And don't believe for a minute he couldn't play. Just does the cavs no good to do so as they try and remain a bottom 3 team.

There is no way LA wants Love. Just no way.

And I know he could play today.

don't really get the Love mention as the deal was signed after Lebron left. Never mind there are players with far worse deals than Love has for the team for which he plays. Agree with everything else you said.

If the season were anything other than a tank I'm fairly confident Love would already be playing. I suspect they'll play him for 2-3 weeks just so teams can see he is healthy and productive in case someoe overwhelms them with an offer for him in the summer.
Yeah, no need to bring him back now.

As for worse contracts?

We might be adding Chris Paul's name to that list by Season's end.

Uh, that has been mentioned a few times.

If I'm not mistaken, Davis misses about 15 games every year.
They each played about 70 per the 4 seasons prior to this one, so 15 is close......probably spot on if this season is factored in.

You get acquiring Love was a condition for Lebron to come here by Lebron? You don't think he appreciates a big man who can spread the floor, rebound and throw outlet passes like Love?

Hey, just to wade back into the pool of unsubstantiated rumors....

Did you know LeBron was having dinner with Kevin Love the day Kyrie called to apologize?

Eh....

I think he'd do better in Houston.

No doubt....and we already have Porter, Mahimni, Hayward, Noah and many others.

I get that.

But that was 4 years ago. And the game has changed since then.

The Lakers need future cap space. And Kuzma plays a similar role with less rebounding, but better perimeter defense at a fraction of the cost.

If they strike out on all their FA targets and a Davis trade, then Love might be a consideration if they can get him on the cheap. Even then, I doubt it happens because that would make it much more difficult to land AD in free agency 2020.

The Lakers won't take any long term money this off season unless it is a core player they plan to build around. Love isn't that anymore.

If you want to tell me they wont get Love because of cost I can buy that, but to say Lebron wouldn't want a player like him is absurd.
