Yet he had more points, rebounds, assists and steals than green. Then there's the little matter GS tried to stop love from scoring. The cavs wanted Green to shoot.

Dude. Where are you getting your stats from?

2018 Finals:
Green = 9.3 PPG, 6 RPG, 8.5 APG, 2 steals, 1.5 blocks on 51.7% from the field
Love = 19 PPG, 11.3 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1 Steal, .25 Blocks on 40.6% from the field

2017
Green = 11 PPG, 10.2 RPG, 4.8 APG, 1.6 Steals, 1 block on 34.5% from the field
Love = 16 PPG, 11.2 RPG, 1 APG, 2.2 SPG, 1 block on 38.8% from the field

Once you factor defensive impact, 2017 is debateable, but probably favors Love slightly. 2018 favors Green.

Love with more assists? In what world?

cbssports.com (1-3-19) LeBron James calling himself the GOAT brings up a different debate

Now I'll admit I didn't read the entire article. But since you said you've never seen LeBron call himself the GOAT maybe check the article out.

In the article is says LeBron called himself the best ever on an episode of More Than an Athlete back in January.
Ok. What I said was true...said I never heard him say it. Never said he didn't say it. Also never said I didn't believe the poster who said Lebron called himself the GOAT.

Says the guy who thinks it would be easy to trade James Johnson.

Lots of teams trade for players in a final year of their contract.
You must not pay attention to some of the horrendous contracts that get moved annually.

"That one right there made me the greatest player of all time ... that's what I felt," LeBron told business partners Maverick Carter, Randy Mims and Rich Paul during an episode of ESPN's "More Than An Athlete" series that aired Sunday night. "I was super, super ecstatic to win one for Cleveland because of the 52-year drought. ... The first wave of emotion was when everyone saw me crying, like, that was all for 52 years of everything in sports that's gone on in Cleveland. And then after I stopped, I was like -- that one right there made you the greatest player of all time.

Where's your link/proof that they "told him to leave".?
Already provided the link and said it seemed like it was mutual for him to go. Of course, if the cavs wanted him to stick around JR had no choice.

Mostly agree, but not sure I'd say he pursued mediocrity. I think he screwed up and thought the players he signed would give them a shot to be above average.

To me, above average with no upside = mediocre in the NBA

Because I would rather have a young group with a potentially bright future over a capped out 45 win squad any day of the week.

Yep, my bad. Not sure why I mentioned assists....only had more points, rebounds, steals and blocks (not assists).

OK, but seems likely he will pick up his option and have 2 years left. Guess we'll see about that.

And usually these bad deals are only picked up in the final year....unless they get moved for another bad deal or with a solid player.

So do I and that's where I saw them, but maybe Riley thought he had a team capable of a 3-4 seed and 50+ wins. Clearly, he was wrong and I think we both agree he was mistaken to sign the guys he did.

In one series he had more steals and the same amount of blocks. Over the 2 combined Dray had more steals, more blocks and played great defense vs Love's below average defense.

Once you start talking about defense in this one, you lose big.

As long as we ignore steals and blocks (and, yes, rebounds) are part of defense.

Seriously?

Are you really going there?

DPOY vs guy other teams attack because they view him as a liability.

But because Love had more steals in 1 random 5 game sample and 1 more rebound per game you are implying it is somewhat close?

I promise you Green played much better defense than Kevin Love in the 2017 Finals. And not just because he is loud and he tends to kick people in the junk.

I have to think LSU would still no comfortably ahead if they had their coach.

Their inability to adjust to the zone has been huge.

You get not everyone shares the same brain. Just like not everyone in LA hates Lebron and didn't want him.

I never liked the guy even when he was here but can appreciate and am thankful for him helping us win a title I never thought I'd see.

Most do not think Baker is a bigger star..........yet.

Wiggy has spoken saying that this was the Cleveland mindset, I was speaking about his perception and his literal words on the topic.

We are only talking about this 1 random 5-game sample, remember? I'm sure he played better D but far better? and of course we also have to ignore the scoring. Not just the scoring but the fact Love needs to be accounted for on O helping out others while teams beg Green to shoot.

If they win a title (hell, maybe even a division) Baker could surpass Lebron here. But that is because football is so much more popular than bball.

The draft savvy was the tanking to have the best chance to get the Lebron guy.

According to spotrac waiters deal is 4 years 52 mil, but close enough. TT was paid his deal after helping lead the Cavs to a title and it was sign him or no one. Did Waiters help the Heat win a title? Did they really need to sign and start him? are you saying if they could amnesty him they would not?

Waiters at the time was the only player available as a starting 2-guard. Miami at the time struck out on Kevin Durant an settled for plan B. Most Heat fans weren't wild about the signing, but weren't pissed at it either.

Yes. Far better. Not even close.

And Love only averaged 5 more points per game for that 5 games sample.

are they wild about it now? If you have called him a bust as a pick doesn't it stand to reason it was a foolish contract to hand out?

waiters was Plan B to Durant?

That's the same in Florida. Wade's the 2nd most celebrated athlete 2nd to Marino. If the Phins ever win a Super Bowl, no one would even remember the Heat's Big 3 era down in Miami - it'd be a distant 2nd.
