From what was said out here by a local Lakers "insider", she never seriously considered it and no calls were made.

She was pissed that the AD trade request was made public and knew it came from Rich Paul and Lebron. Jeanie is trying to run the Lakers like her Dad did.
Dr. Buss never wanted any moves, whether they be trades, contract negotiations, etc. made public until it was already done. That's part of why Shaq was moved quickly. Once he went public with his "You gonna pay me now", his days as a Laker were numbered.

So, when the AD thing went public, that made her mad and she briefly considered trading Lebron because of it. But nothing was ever actually explored.

I am hoping that after the season, she gets everyone together, lays down the law, puts a stop to the bullshit and gets everyone back on the same page. Pretty sure that's what Dr. Buss would have done.
Probably moot, but if she did trade him do you think he'd go? would it matter where, say Philly or NO?

If LeBron doesn't get hurt maybe they don't push the AD button until the off-season. Those two events killed their season .

^^^This^^^

When Lebron and Rondo both went down during the same game and the Lakers, predictably started to struggle and it became obvious that he was going to be out longer than hoped, I think he and Rich Paul panicked.

Them panicking is somewhat understandable. If this was the East, they likely could have recovered from it and still made the playoffs. But in the West, with the toughest part of their schedule coming after the all star break, they knew it was going to be very difficult to make up that lost ground.

I think it would depend on the team. If it was a team with no real chance to win, even with him on it...he probably retires.

But if it were to a team where he could actually have a real shot at getting back to the finals, then I think he'd go.

The problem is, with the exception of maybe the Warriors, the only teams that they could likely get enough of a return from to make it worthwhile are teams that he'd likely retire rather than go to.

Cannot see him retiring, but he might threaten to retire which would stop the deal. Unless a team just wanted the cap relief.

I love these replies. When folks tell me not to carry on a debate while extending the debate.
She's not extending any debates. She's calling you out personally for your posting style. Whole separate topic.

And she's right. We all have a style here, yours is endless argument and hypocritical methods.

Big game tonight... Boston @ Philly... gotta think Philly really, really wants this one... a chance to lessen or put to rest the 'Boston owns Philly' talk before the post-season.

I would think so, but lessened some as it seems they wont see each other unless they played in ECF.

Yeah, maybe. On the one hand, if you're Lebron, do you really want to go to a team like Orlando or the Pels who are going to have to include any players that might make them attractive (Vucevic, AD) in the trade?

Maybe the Knicks since it's NY? But I would expect that the Lakers would only be interested if they included a top 3 pick.

I saw an article that suggested Cleveland or Miami since he's played for both. But I'm not sure either would want him back.

During his last season or 2 in Cleveland, Gilbert seemed like he wanted his team back and I think Lebron was wearing thin in Miami when he was in his prime. Not sure they'd be interested in a 2nd go around with a Lebron who's now 4 years older. Plus, they may not have enough assets to interest the Lakers anyway.

You're spinning out now. This is a whole 'nother topic. We're not extending any arguments we are calling you out for your posting style. And predictably you are repetitive, defensive, hypocritical, deflecting, and argumentative.

all good points and guessing the ship has sailed in Miami and Cleveland

definitely would be tough to pull off. Only thing I can think of is maybe he goes to the Cs, AD to LA and maybe a combo of Tatum, Kuzma, Ingram and/or picks to NO? Issue is still what are Cs left with.

Defensive? You kidding? This is hilarious. You are doing this by being repetitive, hypocritical and argumentative while deflecting........you just jumped into the discussion to do all these things.

And all this with some good bball discussion going on around you. But that's not really your thing, it seems.

You cannot make this stuff up. Thank you for the laugh as always.

Where’s the Kings snarky little meme they post after every win, usually taking a shot at the team they just played?

Lmao. A full season of social media roasts and dumbassery and karma finally dealt them a big one.

Your the King’s for gods sake.

If Kyrie stayed in Boston and the Celtics only had to give up Tatum and picks, that should get them to the finals for the next 2-3 years with a great chance at winning. Problem is that, if Kyrie stays, they likely have a good shot at the finals for at least the next 2-3 years anyway.

For the Lakers, that would be a pretty good deal because they have the cap space to add another star. Giving up Ingram and Kuzma would hurt some, but adding a top FA to AD would ease the pain considerably. lol

New Orleans would get a really nice haul. Tatum, Ingram, Kuzma and picks. You can build for a really nice future with a group like that.

I think the trouble with the deal is they might have to renounce Kyrie to make it work. For sure it seems Horford would have to be renounced.

1. OK, but you asked what he has done without him and so far the answer is they tanked and built the team back up to a title team.

yeah.....that sucked.

And in the end, it took Lebron to guide that team to a title. The team without Lebron based off sample size was quite pathetic.
