From what was said out here by a local Lakers "insider", she never seriously considered it and no calls were made.

She was pissed that the AD trade request was made public and knew it came from Rich Paul and Lebron. Jeanie is trying to run the Lakers like her Dad did.
Dr. Buss never wanted any moves, whether they be trades, contract negotiations, etc. made public until it was already done. That's part of why Shaq was moved quickly. Once he went public with his "You gonna pay me now", his days as a Laker were numbered.

So, when the AD thing went public, that made her mad and she briefly considered trading Lebron because of it. But nothing was ever actually explored.

I am hoping that after the season, she gets everyone together, lays down the law, puts a stop to the bullshit and gets everyone back on the same page. Pretty sure that's what Dr. Buss would have done.

I agree that is EXACTLY what she needs to do. It seems maybe they thought they could strong arm taking over the team based on an assumption she might be soft?

Denver hasn't had to rely on a generational player to make the playoffs. Again I ask, what has Cleveland done without Lebron?

Again, I already told you. Cleared cap room and accrued assets in hopes to be a contender again. It worked.

But, hey, kudos to Denver for making the playoffs for the first time in half a decade (or longer). They did have Melo who was once thought to be pretty good. How far did they get with him?

12 years in the league for 7 different teams, sure sounds like they had some use for him in order to make the roster, mostly for depth in the latter years.

Yea there are tons of other players that have done exactly the same thing. But how many of them will be remembered for doing something significant? Just blending in IMO doesn't cut it at the professional level.

He was obviously a bad draft pick anywhere in the first round in hindsight. I was comparing him to the others in that original post. Bennett is already out of the league, and Fultz can't get on the court due to broken confidence apparently.

I think this is a fair point, but not sure how much extra credit I want to give for staying in the league and stealing money longer.

But, sure, if you want to call him a disaster and the other 2 double secret super disasters I wouldn't disagree.

The Cavs are going to stink for the foreseeable future. Maybe they once again get ANOTHER No. 1 pick and get Zion and that can begin a turnaround but it will still take years for that to happen.

Lonzo is the better player across the board other than scoring (which is why the Lakers were moving Russell to SG) and both are solid passers, but Lonzo has better court vision. Better defender, better rebounder, etc.

Well not really. IF it happens it should only be 2-3 years (guess technically that is yearS, but thinking not what you meant). Will only happen if they can get the right guy in THIS draft. If not I agree it will be a long time if ever.

But they won a title I never thought they'd win and are my 4th favorite team so I can live with it.
