I think they are where they want to be.....bottom 3 for the lottery. Clearly he isn't part of the future so not sure what purpose it serves to have him take time away from someone who might be.

I will say what I don't get is why the NBA allows them to sit him when he is clearly healthy. Obviously he is far from a star, but does the NBA have a cutoff as to talent for where a guy can or cannot sit out?

It is weird, as the league was also letting the Rockets sit Melo for months. Why not let the Pelicans sit AD?

What do the Pelicans have to gain from playing AD? He'll likely continue to get booed on his own court. The Grizz are 23-36 WITH HIM (for the most part) and an 11 game gap to the bottom 3. They aren't going to tank far enough to make a dent. They're 6 games out 8th. They're not making the playoffs, either. It's really such a non-factor.
