what i am saying is that the Celtics do not believe for one second that the Lakers are going to have the cap room to sign Davis when he is a free agent because they cant sit on their cap space and give LeBron no one to play with for a whole other season.

that when Davis becomes a free agent he wont be able to go to the Lakers since they will have no cap room

and the decision is on Davis--- stay here, take the extra money and raises that comes with his Bird Rights, and play on a very good team,

or leave to go play somewhere that is NOT the Lakers.

its why the Lakers are trying to trade for him now- the Lakers KNOW from a PR perspective and from what they promised Lebron that they cannot possibly wait for Davis to become a free agent- the Celtics know it to and it destroys any leverage Davis and Paul THINK they have.

Can always do a s&t when he's a FA too...

I know Alvin Gentry and Luke Walton have to be shaking their heads at leaving the Dubs.

I don't think either regrets it.

You shoot your shot and take the challenge of being the lead man.

But, they both left rings on the table to take jobs that have not gone the way they envisioned.

i think he is for the Lakers- especially when the Lakers do not have even 1 elite trade chip.

they have a few solid trade chips- but they dont have even one premium asset.

Id give up as many solid/good assets as it would take to get a 25 year old top 10 (easily) NBA player that would sign a long term extension at the drop of a hat.

^^^This^^^

He's good enough that adding him to Lebron and then either. moves for solid role players and/or continued improvement from the kids makes the Lakers immediate title contenders.

And he's young enough to still be attractive to other max level FA's when Lebron has moved on.

"Celebrity" All-Star game?!?

There's literally just two or three names I recognize.

Since when is Marc Lasry a celebrity?

Is he implying that the only reason people talk about him is because of LA? That's probably accurate.

This hilarious coming from a guy who played his college ball at Utah.

You would think dude played at Duke, UNC, Kansas, or Kentucky with a comment like that

Even if the quote was taken out of context, there are other ways to make a point without putting down Orlando and even other franchises who aren't as talked about as the Lakers.

I actually thought Lebron looked kinda fat before the windhorst report. I pointed out he can barely get off the ground when he jumps

Wine has a lot of calories, looks like he has been hitting the bottle hard lol

yah.

pretty douchey coming from a 4 year college player from the state of Utah that went late in the draft.

Don't disagree with that last comment, but even if he did what he wanted for the present (keep Kyrie and trade for PG) he still could not get a commitment from Lebron.

You are right.

He would not have gotten a commitment.

But, if LeBron thought the Cavs had a snowball's chance in hell at a championship AND Gilbert was still letting him call the shots, I believe he would have delayed his departure at least another year.

Gilbert didn't do either, so LeBron left.
